Open up Notepad (the text editing program found in Accessories under Programs in your Start Bar). Save the new file into your SWG main directory as User.cfg
Type into the file, exactly as shown:
[SwgClient]
allowMultipleInstances=true
Save the file again.
Next, open up Client.cfg, which is already in the SWG main directory.
Add the following:
.include "user.cfg" ***dont forget the period that is right before "include", it is a bit hard to see in this text
***
Save the file again.
Next, open up Client.cfg, which is already in the SWG main directory.
Add the following:
.include "user.cfg" ***dont forget the period that is right before "include", it is a bit hard to see in this text
Save the file, and double check them in your SWG directory to make sure they were updated. Reboot your game, and your good to go.
I wouldn't recommend using 2 or more clients without some serious RAM installed.
Good Luck....

I've never done the 2nd half of the instructions with the Client.cfg file (only did the user.cfg file) and I can run 2 clients just fine.

In the old days, it was so your master doc could buff your combat character. I guess you could still do it for buffing. Or transferring items from one character to another if you don't have a house.
How much RAM would be required to run 2 instances? Is 1gb enough?

i run 2+ accounts all the time, its very handy to have 2 or more charcters on at once - reason being you can do alot more with the game. 1GB should be ok for 2 account but i would think it would be a bit laggy, in my system i have 3GB of RAM and i can run up to 4-5 accounts at once and get a bit of lag.
