I have been trying all day to join chat channels across different servers in SWG but am halted dead in my tracks since everytime I type in /join sunrunner.chat.Ranger it gives me the "you must be invited to join a group!" onscreen message. Am I missing something? I keep reading through the Chat thing that TH posted about way back when... its not helping me at all.

Please tell me I'm a newb and doing something so simple wrong. I dont care anymore.. lol Lil help please?

Also, I would love to get a chatroom setup across EQ2 and SWG. Any tips or advice?

Isn't the /join command a response to /invite? Maybe there's a similar command that does what you're trying to do...

Well, if you look here it seems to walk through the way to do it quite easily. I just cant get it to work tho.

I think the problem is that you are using the command just a bit wrong. The full command you need is this:

/chatroom join sunrunner.chat.Ranger

That should work. /join *is* the way that you try to join a group, so that's why it was giving you that error message.

Its quite apparent now that you cant /join to join a chatroom so why dont they change that dang Friday feature or whatever it was about cross server chatting? I mean TH just posted it to someone the other day all nonchalantly like it was great and perfect. Why post something that doesnt work! /grumble... Thanks tho.

Did find an interesting thing today. I could create a chatroom on Starsider from Wanderhome. Quite odd but it works. Tho, I cant see the chatroom on the WH server but it does appear on the SS chatroom lists.
