Thread: Revealed: How to 'milk' Elder spawns...the pet trick!

I see a lot of posts from people about how to get multiple elders from one spawn, so i guess this isn't as common knowledge as i first thought:

when u find a wild elder spawn, call your pet, target the elder from about 100m (ish) and attack it with your pet. Once the elder kills your dewback/kaadu/whatever...it will agro you, and leave the rest of its spawn. Wait for her to engage about 100m away, and make sure you are facing AWAY from the spawn; then when she tries to run at 20k HAM shell run away. Store your pet from the datapad after the fight.

Rinse and Repeat.

I have had about 20 elders from a spawn with jedi doing this before, but solo i can usually make it last me pretty much a whole buff session. The key is to not disturb the others around her, although be aware that OCCASSIONALLY, one of them agroes instead of the elder for some weird reason. But anyway...hope that helps.

Awesome tip m8. i didn't know that yet, was still pulling them with my rifle, which works pretty fine too, but every once in a while pulls the whole spawn and on a good one with 2 elders and few protectors it can end up your buff session pretty quick

Are you doing this as a jedi?

Because you don't even need a pet if your not a jedi. Any kind of DOT bleed attack will single pull. Just a quick bleeding DOT shot (health, mind, leg..etc.)and an immediate /peace. That will put a bleed on your target without no arggo from anyone. 10 seconds later, the target you applied the bleed to will arggo you, even from 150 meters away. I advise staying within 90 meters though because if your further away or your target disappears off the radar or screen, when they arggo you from the bleed taking place, they tend to warp right on top of you......this is especially true for krayts and elders. So keep themvisaullyon your screen and radar.

Oh yeah, you must do this while kneeling or prone. If you do it standing up, you will risk catching arggo immediately and that usually makes everything around the target arggo you too. Prone is best, I actually can't recall a single situation where i've arggo'd on the initial bleed attack while prone.

Also, just for reference, you can get a number of attacks on a target before they actually arggo you providing you are a reasonable distance away. Your posture also influences this. It works like the rifleman's /conceal shot ability.

If you miss one shot while standing up....they arggo you on that shot attempt.

If you miss two shots while kneeling.....they aggo you on the second missed shot

if you miss 3 shots while prone.....they arggo you on the 3rd missed shot.

Sometimes if your prone and at least 60m away, you will arggo them on the 3rd missed shot but they don't actually know where your at for a few seconds (kinda like they are confused at where the shots are coming from), so they won't charge you just yet and you can get in a few more attacks.....but if you use any attack other than /conceal shot, DOT bleeds, threaten shot or warning shot, you will immediately arggo any of their friends that are within the maximum 64m range of you, not the target. So if your 60m away from the target and he has a friend 15 meters away from him in the opposite direction of you (means your 75m away from that target)....you can arggo the target that's at 60mwith normal shots and not have the target that's farther away arggo you at all.

you can do that on elders too. I recently did it on an elder spawn 300m away from the nightsister vs singing mountain clan battlefield. The elder was 8m away from the closest protector or spellweaver and was closest to me with no other spawns between us. I simply moved to 64m and started up strafe shot and kited her.....she was the only one to charge me due to the fact that shots do not extend past the 64m range and the others were ouside of that range. I've done this on many occasions (everyday) on many different creatures and npc's, yup, krayts too.....works every single time. Just gotta watch out for roamers though, they might roam right into your shots unexpectedly.

You can get 15 elders at least from any elder spawn if you only kill the elder and wait for a new one to spawn. The spawn count is based on a set number and not what spawns, so you can clear the spawn 3 times or you can just kill the elder 15 times

yup, and using a bleed is most effective. elders tend to wander when they respawn, if u dont touch the other 4 sisters, those 4 like to stay in one place it seems. elder will wander a lot and sometimes u dont even need to pull it, as it walks 30-50m from the others. but yes, the above mentioned tactics (pet and bleed) work very well.

best is finding 2 elder spawns like 100m apart...then its nonstop elders for about an hour.
