Ok, in the patch notes yesterday morning it said "there has been a change in the way to becoming a jedi. The journey starts with one step and can last a lifetime". Never, have they been more right about something...

Ok, first off I would like to note that the conversion of xp into FS xp is at a ratio of 30:1.

Now, once you have completed a quest at the village you will unlock one of the FS skill trees. It costs 50,000 fs xp to train novice in this tree. Each branch in the tree requires 1,225,000 fs xp to complete all four boxes. They are broken down like this:

450,000 450,000 450,000 450,000

350,000350,000 350,000 350,000

250,000 250,000 250,000 250,000

175,000 175,000 175,000 175,000

50,000

Each skill box requires 1 skill point to learn and you must use 24 skill points (learn 6 full branches of any of the 4 FS skill trees) in order to move on to Jedi Initiate.

When you total the fs xp up you come to a sum of 7,450,000 fs xp (450k + 350k + 250k + 175k (x6) + 50k (x2)

Now lets convert this into "real world" xp. Remembering I told you that trading in xp for fs xp is at a 30:1 ratio you need to then multiply 7,450,000 x 30 in order to get the actual xp needed in order to fullfil those 6 FS branches required to move on to Jedi Initiate. Well unless you have a big fancy calculator you're probably gonna see something like this when you try to enter that many numbers: E2.2350000. That number equates to 223,500,000 xp. But don't start to cry just yet. It has been brought to my attention that you get to trade in combat xp for fs xp at a ratio of 3:1 therefore this final number needs to be divided by 2 giving you a grand total of 111,750,000 xp needed in order to train in 6 full branches.

divide it by two. you also get 3:1 combat xp to force xp. so that cuts your answer in half.

No your right. That is where the bottle neck occurs. How many people are going to be working non stop on this? How many people are going to complete it? Sure in time people will complete it, but I dont think it will take to long, they give you 3 weeks for each brach to grind out before they put another phase in. If I am reading correctly. So it is going to be 18 weeks, unless you got a free box. So start maxing 2 or 3 professions out right now and you will only have to do it 256 times

Oh yeah and forgot to mention, you are getting only the combat tree, you will have to grind somthing other than combat for the last two branches. 6 branches, 4 of them combat, so you are going to have to grind somthing else to get the rest

once again unless I read wrong.

You're forgetting combat xp... for each 30 weapon xp that you get, you get 3 combat xp, and combat converts at a 3:1 ratio, so for each 30 weapon xp instead of just getting 1 FS, you get 2. Thereby cutting your final number in half, from 223.5m to 111.75m. Not much of an improvement, but it is something

Well, there's one big thing you're forgetting here, and that is the conversion isn't as simple as 30 to 1. Nearly every type of experience has its' own conversion rate. For example, combat experience converts at 3 to 1 and the crafting experience conversions are different as well. (some even as low as 8 to 1 or so).

So for a fighter you would have to figure in all of the weapons experience he would have (caps at 900K), plus all the combat experience he would have (caps at 300K), as well as any and all medic/scout/etc support experience as well.

It's not really as bad as it sounds, since you can easily get that experience from simply playing the game and not even having to grind at all. The next time you or your guild goes up to the corvette or any of the new dungeons really, make sure to convert all your experience first before you leave, and then check it again as you come out. I think you'll be surprised with how much experience you walk away with. Same goes for running the every day missions like janta/mokk/rancor/etc for cash or FPs.

It's only a grind if you make it into one.

Ah, thanks for the correction on the combat xp part. I'll edit the post to include that information now. Well, only half the time that I had originally thought but still a daunting task nonetheless, hehe

I will create a program for my TI-83 tomorrow that should simplify the conversion process. I will then make it available on the board.

Basically you have to cap you Weapon XP 66 times! That would garner 30000 FSP for every 900000 of Weapon XP at a 30:1 ratio. While capping 900000 weapon XP you should get 175000 combat XP at a 3:1 ratio to FSP.

Rancors and Hurtoons will have to be placed on a endangered species list soon . . . their days are numbered.

Seems several people have mentioned that the rates were improved when Pub10 went live... I've seen several posts that it is now 10:1 for weapons and 1:1 for combat. So now getting 10 weapon xp gets you 2 FS xp, which further improves the rate by threefold.

Unfortunately, this is not so. Another thread has a post from someone standing at the XP converter as he posted saying it's 30:1 and 3:1.

900,000 Weapons XP would get you 90,000 Combat XP. This totals 60,000 FS XP. Therefore, you're capping that 124.167 times to get 7,450,000 FS XP.

EDIT: And yes, I've wiped out many a Quenker getting here, Huurton Stalkers are next on the list.
