they came back and I looted the datadisk but now everytime I try to use it it says I must first loot the item in order to use it.

About the must be looted thing, put it in your backpack then use it or something like that, cant remember excatly what my friend did he got that problem and then said he put it in his backpack then it worked.

Don't use a loot macro to get the disc

I didnt use a loot macro I just double clicked on the corpse and recieved it.
