First, you need to talk to the droid to get the patient's symptoms. Write them down on a piece of paper if its easier. You have to craft the meds (the person will give you a draft schematic to use), and experiment on them to get the desired effects. When you do craft the med, drag it from your inventory onto the droid, and he will update the patient's symptoms. Do this until you cure 5 patients.
If you want to craft all the meds at home, then bring them there, here is a list of all the possible symptions (I think):
Open sores
Pus-filled lesions
Erratic heart rate
Respiratory failure
Lost vision
Partial paralysis
Violent spasms
Vomiting
Fever
Swelling
Bloody cough
Internal bleeding

Well, I know you drop the meds on the droids and they will administer it to the patients.
You need to build the Experimental Biological Counteragent that is under Generic Items in your food and chem tool.
As for how to heal the various symptoms, it's a matter of using a variation of low to medium to good resources and experimenting with them. As you experiment, the symptoms that you can treat are displayed in the right hand bar of the experimentation window.
NOTE - The third item 'treated' is the one that will ADD a symptom to the patient. Make sure that if you get something appear for this, you experiment on the third bar until the third 'symptom' disappears, otherwise you might find you've added a symptom back to the patient.
As for what level of experimentation treats what symptom, I can't help you on that one. Still trying to figure it out myself!
.
Hope that helps a bit
