Hello all!I have been using the forums for a while but have never posted.. till now. I'm not sure if this post should go in this forum or not.. but I have a problem and need some help...

I want to change my characters name...

Is this possible? Do I have to make a new character? Any help would be appreciated.

Why? You may ask... My characters name is Salty Pepperton and while I liked it at first... I am tired of it now. I know this may sound silly but I have worked hard to get to where I am with this character and don't know what to do. Thanx for your advice guys!

In the future, I'd recommend doing a CTRL-H in game to bring up the Holocron. Click on Customer Service at the bottom, and enter what you want to find out about in the Search field at the top. In this case, it would have been Name Change.

To save you the trouble this time, I can tell you the answer is no, not unless it's an offensive name, which yours isn't. What this means is, they have the capability to do it, but they will not for whatever reason. I wish they would! At least last names, anyway, since those aren't tied to anything in the database.

The only time you can change name is if someoen reports you as having an abusive name or a name that is the same as some copyrighted name. I dont know if your name qualifys as that. You could try creating a ticket and saying that some people find oyur name offensive and you would like to change it? dunno if it will work. Other than that you will have to make a new character.

If a CSR does change your name then alot of stuff tends to get broken, like harvester permissions, friends lists, house admin rights ect ect.

What if...

I become a jedi with Salty

Get the second character on my server

Make him a jedi

and turn Salty back to the way he was before the jedi

Any thoughts?

I suppose you can do that, but you have to give up all ure normal skills to become a jedi so turning him back will be a long grind. You can train the 2nd character as a jedi if you wish, you dont have to turn salty back despite what other people say. So yeah go for the jedi and use a proper name for the 2nd character, but dont delete saly if you unlock your second slot.

What if I just give my stuff to a friend and delete Salty and start fresh and get my stuff back?

would that be the "easiest" route?

I am comparing this to grinding to jedi twice and then regrinding my first character to master weaponsmith, master tka, master artisan, merchant 3000

I think I will just work on jedi with salty and go from there... It just isn't worth it to go through all that just because of a name
