Thread: Dissapearing macros is there a fix?

My macros are constantly dissapearing. They are not very long, so I don't think I'm reaching the character limit. when I log or travel via shuttle, all is gone except the first line. Does anyone know the fix?

this is because:
A- you didnt name it
B- you didnt select an icon
C- you edit the macro after it has already "dissapeared"
it happens to me alot. When you are left with a macro with only 1 line, delete it, create a new macro, be sure to select a name and an icon.
Sometimes when you forget to name a macro, but you select an icon, the name of the macro will be like "Heal Damage" because the icon for the macro is the "heal damage" icon...

I had this problem too, the only way I found to sort it was to save the macro, disconnect, then reconnect. The macro then stays as it was.

It's actually a bug.
Some of my macros that I'd had for a long time were suddenly getting deleted and I also had a lot of macros called . and the only command they had in was .
Some of them were named custommacro0006 etc as well.
The icon they had was a little man who kept moving in and out of the square.
I deleted most of them but some of them keep coming back and a lot of them definately keep being deleted no matter what.
I just keep them in /notepad in the game and copy them back out of there :]

Thanks. I keep them saved via notepad, but its stillgets very annoying. So far I have not completely deleted the macros and made new ones as Thedarkness4u suggests in "C". I've just been re-editing them. so I will try that.

Apparently this happens when you copy and paste the macro into the edit box. I had this all the time but once I had entered the entire macro by hand it hasn't happened since.

I had this happen with all kinds of Macros. Old ones, New ones, and the macro itself is not gone just the hot key on the tool bar is I drop the macros back in and i'm good to go. I also keep them in the notepad in game to edit them as well as keeping track of them.

This was it. all the macros I copy-pasted from notepad,were the ones that dissapeared. I then typed them all by hand
and now the text does not vanish.

My friend has that exact same problem. The toolbar icons for her macros disappear. She has to redo her toolbars several times a week.

If you are having the problem with the toolbar icons changing into a little man moving into and out of the toolbar box there is a solution (at least this works for me):
delete the little man macro bug from the toolbar using the right click "remove" command...
the drag and drop the macro you want there from your "ctrl+A" macro log....
from then on the macro should stay put
I had this problem a while back and found that it only happens when you drop a macro into the toolbar over and existing macro in the toolbar. Hope this helps.

i had this to my macro will have a Icon going in & out of my toolbar.. then its called sometihng like Created macro 0004
so i delete it
