sorry if this is off topic but i feel it is a subject that needs to be addressed.
basicly i have stumbled across a game guide I wrote on this fourm that has been published on a known SWG resorce website, swgcenter.com
i was looking on google to see if any other info has been published from say SOE or other players about bugs with the Y-8 mining ship, i had previously writen a game guide based around the bugs and how the ship should work. the guide in question Y-8 mining guide (working around the known bugs) was taken from this forum and publish on swgcenter.com without my knolage or permission. i fell a little cheated because of this, to be honist i would have no problem with it IF they asked and gave me propper credit for this guide but as you can tell nothing was done, no permission was given and thus i am a truly unhappy nuna.
i would like to know if there can be a way to protect material on the game guide forum so as this may not happen again or happen to other players who are publishing help on this forum.
first off you can do what i did, Note at the foot of all my posts a small disclamer about my posts. hopefully this can help if you just tap in a line with a short disclamer followed by "©200x" (thats ascii code 0169 hold alt tap it in the numpad.)it should ward off guide thifes who may want to publish your guide and pass it off as thier own.
SWGcenter.com pay around $50.00 for a game guide to thier members and if your not the member who posted it you may of been subject to copyright theft, so keep on guard.

A) anything posted to the forums is owned by soe, and pretty much fair use for any other swg site. read the forums tos sometime.
B) wth does this have to do with swg? someone reposted something from the forums. if you are really worried about it get a lawyer, and have him tell you A, or forget about it.
C) isn't this the 2nd or 3rd time you've posted this?

Actually in a bazzar twist this isn't the guy who posted this same message before. This is the guy who told the original poster to "get over it"
To bad he wasn't able to take his own advice....

Well this makes no sense,

Am I the only one who is confused here?
Also using the little copyright symbol somewhere doesnt mean anything unless you have done the legal paperwork for copyright. If anything legal action could be taken against foogee for claiming false copyright.

wth im confused now, Did this guy(orignal poster of this thread) just re post it to make a fool out of the other person that posted it, looking like he did since he didnt copy/paste the swgcenter.com right

Lol.....just been checking through my old messages and found this one that i hadnt checked back on since i posted it.
It was supposed to be somesort of ironic copy of his request for a copyright.
I was quite drunk and it seemed like a good idea at the time....

actually if he sent a email to soe I think they are obligated to take it off the site if what he says is true but umm, lol need a lawyer for all that and thatd be such a damn waste of time/money rofl
