HI I want to resign my current faction and join theother side...
But whenI checked with the recruiter it only give me the option to
go on active duty...
Anyone know how to do this?

Hi
I wanted to do the same my char came up as on leave, I had to become a combatant before I was given the option to leave the faction.

I'm not in-game atm, so can't remember exactly, but for the rebels at least, it's an option at the bottom, below (I want to re-asses my role in the war) I believe.
It's something like "This is too much for me - I want out" or words to that effect.

You have to go back "on duty" to get the full range of recruiter options.

Just as an important FYI for anyone else checking this post:
I've seen some reports of players who were a ground Neutral + Rebel/Imp pilot. When the new system went in, factional pilots became members of the respective ground faction. Resigning from the ground faction may (will?) drop all your pilot skills as well. This can leave you with ships and components that you can't manage anymore due to not having the certification.
It's been brought up to the devs, with suggestions of either: not allowing resigning without first surrendering all the pilot skills, or give an additional warning to resigning players who are also factional pilots.
