Thread: anti decay kit question

I just recieved my 360 day veteran reward, and i picked the Anti Decay Kit, which i feel was a pretty wise desicion due to my profession. But i dont fully understand what it can dofor me, or how i can use it, and when to use it, and on what. I know it makes the item resistant to decay, but can you only put it on one thing and never use it again. And if thats true does that mean i shouldnt use it till i get my Fourth Generation Light Saber? Please help me with this, i apoligise if this has been asked, and thank you for your help.

Once you delete the item the anti-decay kit was in, you can get the decay kit back.

Hmm, well thats good, so should i put it in every one of my LS then? And if i were to do that wouldnt i end up with crafting several differnt LS?

Do this:
- Craft your best possible saber.
- Put the anti-decay kit and your best saber in your inventory.
- Drag the saber onto the anti-decay kit.
- Click "apply".
- Open your saber and insert your best crystals/pearls.
- Close saber, examine, it will say that your item will no longer suffer decay.
When/if you get better pearls/crystals:
- Open saber, remove old crystals/pearls, put in new ones.
- Close saber.
- No decay.
When/if you craft a better saber:
- Open saber.
- Remove all crystals/pearls.
- Destroy saber.
- Anti-decay kit returns to your inventory.
- Follow first set of steps above.

The kit can only be used with one item. Once you use it on the item, it disappears from your invo. Once you delete the item you placed in it, the kit reappears.

Sounds great, thanks alot for the help westcoastavenger and everyone else. I think i finally understand the process now.

Hey Westcoast, its my understanding that your pearls/crystals must be in the saber before you use the decay kit on it. And then they are no decay as long as they are in there, but loss that ability if you remove them from the saber. Now as I we all know how clear the devs are on thier explinations I guess either one of us could be right...............or both wrong

Hey, buddy. Not at all. Once the anti-decay kit is on your saber, whatever you put inside will no longer decay. You can take them out, put them back, or change them out and they will not decay as long as your saber has the kit applied. I've done this many, many times already so enjoy this easier way of doing it =)

If you use this in an item with a dot, do the uses still go down or is that kept from "decaying" also?

i think only the condition of the weapon itself is preserved, and DOT uses continue to fall even with an anti-decay kit. i'm not sure however, so i'd be interested to know as well...

DOT continue to go down. I added the kitt to my NSEL with the hope of a perma dot.
