Have there been any character wipes yet? Does anyone know if there is one scheduled?

You can bet there will be at least a few. But none scheduled just yet.

I think they should do one soon, especially if they have never done one.
I deleted one of my characters awhile ago but now I want to play him again. The name is "unavailable". It is a very unusual name so I'm positive someone didn't take it. If someone did happen to take it, they haven't been online in like a year.
I think a wipe of all long term inactive accounts and unused deleted names would be nice.

Yea especially with the projected growth the CU, exp pack, and Episode III is suposed to bring. It would suck for the new players if all the got were adgcral npsolf. Or some crap like that. I mean, the day I see a guy with '' in there name instead of just ' is the day it is a must.

It is kind of bad. They don't ever delete the names when someone deletes a character. They remain unusable for some reason. Have you ever tried to "reroll" a character and found you can't get your own name back? Sometimes they even say you can wait a couple weeks and Maybe you might get it back, but there are no guarantees.

I dunno, I have started new characters to have a bunch of game mail spammed as soon as I get to a planet. It was apparently a name that had been used before.

I don't see how that's a problem. Wouldn't you rather have the option to choose the name you want, previously used or not? If a few emails bother you you could also have the option not to use that name.
Not a big concern for me, especially since it doesn't seem possible to get back the name I want.

I didn't say it was a problem did I? I was just mentoning fact. It does kinda bother me that I get tells from strange ppl that used to be "X" characters friends, but if they persist /ignore. So to recap. names do get recycled back into ones new characters can use.

Well I deleted my original toon on infinity back on aug 5th 2004. Recently the toon I replaced it with, got jedi, so for fun I thought I'd use exactly the same name as my old original toon for my new alt. I was amazed, once I re-created it, I had all my old emails from back then and even my original friends list!
Too bad he didn't have all his original skills and badges too...

I created a character on the server Bria but deleted her about a week later. I decided to create a new character & was able to use the exact same name. This was just a few days later.

meant to be six months after you cancel your account, obviously the servers aren't as busy as they'd like so they dont need a wipe!
