What exactly is slicing? And what does nerfed mean? Thanks in advance!

Slicing is when a smuggler (hacks) into something to twist the stat in his/her or your advantage. ex: if he slices a mission terminal, he could get missions with better payouts. If he slices his weapon, he could either ger better damage or better speed on his weapon. The only drawback to slicing is there is a certain chance, (based on your slicing skills of course) that you may fail the slicing.



Nerfing is when the Devsnotice something in the gameplay that doesn't balance out with the other professions, and they "correct" it. Ex. Before Launch, Brawlers were dealing some serious damage, even more than Marksmen, so the Devs " Nerfed" the profession.

Just bought the game, and like many (I'm sure), I'm interested in making a Jedi. I've looked over the forums, and looked at the guides, etc. And what I have found is very helpful (if I understood all of it), but they mostly all talk about how to get the 'glow' or what to do once you have it.


What I'd like to know, is what profession(s) to start out with and develope until the point of persuing 'the glow' to be an effective Jedi.


Need to know things like, what skill does Light Saber depend on, or is ita skill only learned after becoming Jedi, i.e. do you need to learn one-hand melee, two-hand melee, etc?


Also, I have read mention of different types of Jedi, i.e. Jedi Saber, Jedi Force Defense, etc. What are these about?


Forgive me if I've missed a handy guide or posting about this somewhere already, but there is a lot of info on these forums.

Hey thanks for the direction. Didn't know what force sensitive forum was about...kinda sounded like a Woody Allen thing.

Ya, I'd say, get yourself as high as you can in anything you think is fun. Then once the CU comes about check things out. Cus we will be just as new to it as you are...


I personally always loved Commando! Was fun to do an old school type torch thing.
