Hi my fellow SWG players (and Merry X-mas to you all),
Some time ago I posted Gordon Waltons State of the game post to the SWG community on MMORPG (http://www.mmorpg.com/index.cfm). The community there is often knowledgable in various online games and the opinions voiced thereabout SWG are ... diverse ... and often some posters spam whole threads with their (usually) negative opinion. To get a statistically more meaningful overview of what people think about recent and future SWG changes I started a poll (the 4 choices below were written by me). So far 49 have answered and here is the result.
Will this increase in manpower result in SWG offering more content soon ?
YES - finally !26.5 %
No - too little too late !22.4 %
Maybe they are better used in repairing existing bugs and imbalances before adding more bug-ridden code ?! 24.5 %
Who cares ? I am off to play (insert newest game here) ....26.5 %
What do you think about the "State of the Game" post and the future of SWG ? About the possibility to see more content added to the game ?

I think the state of the game is good. Naturally people are going to drop off as newgames come out to play but I believe the hard core Star Wars fans will stick it out. I'm in it for the long haul.

I think they have to seriously revise the mission and grind aspects of the game, in addition to the combat revamp.
When the novelty of WoW has gone, a well placed add-on (FREE download like EVE !!) focussing on the Galactic Civil War and letting the players REALLY influence the direction of the war - maybe even allowing true PvP servers where one side can actually WIN (closed ended game, player transfer/copy allowed) - would help to win back some of the old player base AND quite a few newbies ... especially after Episode III launched.
But the real kick would be to add some new planets .... Hoth and Kashyyyk come to mind, Coruscant a close third. Geonosia is too much like Lok and Tatooine to be of much interest. Nal Hutta is too much like Rori swamps.

I'm addicted to Star Wars Galaxies, it's like catnip for clones!!! I'll never let go of this game, not even my new DS, or Metroid Prime can pry me away to this level of devotion.
Jedi Sith can hardly pry me away, since I'm the only one who knows what Star Was is at that role playing forum... but I go there because they have lots of daily rp posts.
