Thread: help! my friend is stuck in space!

this is a really wierd bug...
he went up on the corvette mission.
long story short he got mad, and in frustration, /quit up there.
i know people have done this b4 and simply logged on at the retreat.
but he was still 'somewhere out in space'.
he wasn't really on the vette, he was outside... in space.
not in a tie. he could call his vehicle and travel as if he was on planet.
he started just outside what appears to be the bridge of the vette. at fisry he could
see npc's inside but now he can't.
it apears just to be a 2-d window.
well anyway, he submitted a CS report and a bug report, and nothing has come of it.
he's been up there for almost a week now and is completely out of ideas.
his ign is grenit on ahazi.
he's tried /unstick , /reloadtexures, and a bunch of other stuff.
it appears as if he is lost in a space world of his own.
he's going to quit the game real soon unless it's fixed pronto.
it's a real nasty bug and i hope it's not repeatable, but if it is
and someone had this happen b4, i would really appreciate any advice
or tips as to how to escape this cold dark void of space.

In the CS ticket, did he select the option of "I'm stuck". Those seem to get some priority over others. I'm sure he's tried relogging a few times (you said he's been up there close to a week!). Not sure what to tell you or your friend. 
Is this the ground-based corvette mission or the pilot corvette mission? If it's the ground-based, try typing /target escape and then hitting the tilde key (next to the number 1 on your keyboard). Maybe he can get the option to use the escape pod. I don't know what else to tell you. He could reinstall the game? /shrug Hope it all works out.

1) yes, he selected the 'I'm Stuck' option, i was there when he submitted
2) it is the ground mission, imperal assaination one i belive

Something similar happened to me, except that I never went to space in the first place. I saw stars, but not the buildings of the city I was supposed to be in. It eventually caused a crash to desktop. This happened several times until I figured out the problem. It turned out that I had an old video driver. Ask your friend to check to see if he needs an updated driver.

You mentioned he tried commands, was /escapepod now ....one of them?
Can he target anyone (player wise) while on, or is it even possible to get near him? (have never done vette mission so not sure what part of space it occupies)
If he can or they can, I suggest trying to group and travel, or even duel...
truely at loss here to what else to try, best luck

There is Telephone Support
And the "I am stuck" option "usually" has a response time of 10 minuites, if no answer a. he didnt do it right or b. delete and make a new one.

i'm not sure if he has tried the escapepod deal.
i'll ask him, and get back to u guys on that.
i submitted previous cs reports successfully and
i didn't see anything wrong with how he submitted it
some have suggested that the devs are on vacation.
but i really wouldn't know.
it might be too late anyway, i thinks he's going to WoW

you can just type /escapepod yes
and it will jettison you... I've done it before, but don't know if that'll work in his case.
