Thread: Question: Cybernetic limbs upon death. Are they combat-level related?
Message Edited by Bishop3560 on 04-30-2005 01:17 PM
i got mine by dieing in the DWB and yes I was insured (if issurance is even working).
Why you would want them I don't know, but to each his own. In my opinion, they look stupid, and are just another thing that makes SWG look and feel like Dragonball Z. Put another check mark in the quit this game column for me ![]()
I really miss a game that was entertaining and fun to play, and it was more balanced before the CU

I for one am looking to get cybernetic limbs upon death, with no succes so far after dying 15 times, not-cloned/not-insured, on Dathomir. Is the cybernetic limb upon death combat-level related? Perhaps only animals who kill you give limbs? Or perhaps you need to wait a long time?
What I gathered:
-You don't need the ROTW expansion in order to get the limb upon death.
-People have gained their limbs this way on the ordinary server including friends of mine.
Thank you for each reply.
No, the cyborg limb related to death is not combat related.
There are two key categories of cybernetics. The first kind of cybernetic limbs can be acquired as loot rewards from NPCs and quests on Kashyyyk. These metal appendages may be attached by visiting a cybernetic specialist who can "install" them onto a character. The other way a player can acquire a cybernetic limb is by not paying insurance! If a character dies on one of the high level planets (novice worlds are not included), they may suffer the consequences of a cybernetic limb as a result of their fall in combat, this particular cybernetic limb is not a good one and it is recommended that it be removed or replaced by a cybernetic specialist. If a player already has helpful cybernetic limbs installed, and they suffer an untimely demise the limbs will simply take damage.

just a question is the system for uninsured limbs in play atm or are you waiting for RoTW to go live before you introduce it?
This is in Live as we speak.
If you have not paid to have yourself cloned at a cloning center on that planet, and if you have not insured your items, there is a chance you will end up with a cyborg arm/legs.

This is a problem in space, I don't want cyber limbs from ejection I think that should be optional, since there is no way to insure in space.

All the "three-level" Medical Centers in NPC cities like Theed, Coronet, and Mos Espa have a Cybernetic Removal Specialist on the *second* floor. It costs 1000 credits to get a cybernetic limb removed.
FWIW, the cybernetics-on-death was disabled on TC. I'll check and see if that is going to go to live or was just a change for the test environment.

I even found myself kneeling before the Emperor yesterday, even though I'm not into the whole roleplay thing. I got a shock when he told me to rise...
By far the single most impersive MMO I've played since old school eq. I find myself jumping at blaster fire when I'm trying to sneak my way up to an NPC boss I need to kill, those pesky thugs have keen senses.
