Thread: Racing question

So, I took my first stab at running a racing circuit this morning.

I ran the Mos Espa track on a speederbike. I had an interesting bug pop up on the 4th-6th legs (of 15) in that race. Namely, my speeder spent those legs in a vertical position. (IE, looking ahead to where I was travelling, I did not see the usual nose-cone of my bike. Instead, I saw the seat, as if I'd popped a wheelie for the 2.6km of those legs.)

But here's my question. My running time for the track was 640 seconds. I could run it a little tighter and maybe trim 10 or 15 seconds off of that. The problem is that the current daily record for that track was already at 567 seconds! I can see how there was a better time than the one run I took on the track, but HOW ON GOD'S BROWN PLANET did somebody complete that course 73 seconds faster?

Anyone have ideas for making a better time? I would like to get at least one of the racetrack badges.

Thanks.

I can only assume that it was someone with an AV-21

no no, it is a jedi using forcerun3, they keep all the race times, have to get on early for server reset to get those badges (usually)

Even 560 seconds isn't that good of a time - good is under 550 I'd say... on an AV-21, my best time is 524 and on a swoop, 534.

Plus, from what I hear, swoops and AV-21's are faster than forcerun3 on every course. Times lower than 112 or possibly 110on Keren, 294 on Agrilat, and 524 on Mos Espa are either players with enhanced reflexes or speedhack-using cheaters.

534s with a swoop? Egads!

I didn't really hug the canyons. I did try to take the hills straight on rather than at angles when heading to a WP, but still... yikes.

best time i seen is 540 second and the person was usin a av 21 and cutting the corners off but that person had tried many times and knew the track off by heart becasue they knew exactly where to cut and where to hug against the walls! just lots of time and practise and i dont think jedi runner have anything to do with it!

I don't have any screenshots of the Mos Espa times (guess I forgot, but take my word), just the Agrilat Run.

Of course, 112.0 on Keren is nothing special at all, but it's the only other best time screenshot I seem to have.

Do NOT go slow up the hills you can go up them diagonally with a vehicle and it goes at the same speed across land, with this in mind the only thing that pisses me off about the racetracks is people have houses/harvestors/factorys hell there is even a player city on chimaera on the course.

Hi

This sounds like you were following the canyons around the race track- this feels like the natural, and obvious way to do theMos Espatrack.

The problem is, it is also slow- try aiming directly at the waypoints instead and go off the track and over the hills on a direct path and you will get a better time.

This feels a little off- as bikes go slower on hills than on straights, but the route is shorter then and the amount of hills is not that high. After a couple of goes you can get a time on this track of 560 seconds usinga swoop.

An AV-21 can do at least 552 (maybe faster) on this one.

I cant remember my time on that track but I think it was about 566 or something. I did it on the av21 and basically you just cut huge chunks off the corners. You slow down slightly going up the hills but the amount of track you miss easily compensates. I've yet to get the record for this track cos ive only run it once, because it was so long and i kept getting shot by tuskens lol. My HAM is really low when unbuffed so I nearly died a couple of times. I managed to get records for the others tho and got 316 for the agrilat and 116 for the keren. I love the races and hope they add more tracks, so nice to do something other than proffesion related stuff.

With an AV-21 u are able to do ( well atleast on my server ) 544 on the Mos Espa Track and 112 on the Keren Race Track. I have achieved both those times on both those tracks. With an AV-21 on the Mos Espa Track you can go up and down hills without slowing down....this can cut the time by a lot Good Luck!
