Thread: Schematic # when using a crafting macro

I understand how to set up a macro anduse it. My question is about the schematic number...I thought I read that you just count from left to right in your data pad until you get to the number of the schem you want. I'm not sure if im counting wrong or just doing it wrong, but I always seem to have the wrong number of the item I want to craft. Any info. is appreciated, Thank You.

what kind of crafting tool are you using? counting from left to right and then going to the next row and counting left to right is correct, but some of the schematics call for a specialized crafting tool to make.
i see you are chef. suppose you want to grind kiwik swirls. you count left to right and when you reach kiwik swirls, you get the number 37. now you much go back and look at every schematic and see if they use a generic crafting tool or a specialized crafting tool. say there are 4 items that require specialized crafting tools to make. 37-4=33. viola. if you are still off, look in your datapad and see if the item that pops up in the crafting window is near the item you want to craft. if it is, just move your schem number in the macro up or down in relation to the item. hope that helps
