I dont see why everyone keeps saying merchants were nerfed. From my point of view they were improved, or balanced at the very least. In the old system you could master merchant, set up your shop and drop all merchant skills again at virtually NO penalty. This was causing a lot of harm to the true merchants imo. Whereas this tactic is still viable to some extent in the new system, the merchant class as a whole is much more viable to keep (as opposed to master and then dropping it). Crafters will now actually have to make contracts with merchants in order to sell their goods. I love this new system a lot more than the old one (and I am not a merchant)

When the vendor nerf was announced, all sorts of artisans swear they were going to quit. I spent hours reading them, and thought that this would be a huge blow to the player population, economy, and items. I felt sorry for them and was on their side for the most part, though I hate empty vendors. It doesn't seem like these artisans have kept true to their word. I can tell because a decrease in spam at coronet or theed (they should use auction chat btw) *hasn't* occured yet. U artisans out there still ticked, or u get over it? Anyone out there know many artisans that have quit?

Hopefully
you make good on your threats. If not, then atleast I will know not to take as seriously the many quit threats I read. I'm not picking on artisans, really. I just have not notice a decrease in artisan players. The nerf still seems steep, even tho
i hear soe did the typical PR here where they say they are going to do A, but then do only a. I post this here, due to the fact that the issue invloves the whole community and what they have percieved.

In my opinion, true artisans who

a) care for their vendors
b) care for their customers
c) have fun playing SWG

weren't nerfed. The opposite is the case. Since so many empty vendors were removed from the worldmap, I see their profits rising and rising

In fact, these Town-Criers arent usually artisans as Main-Profession, and the nerf affected merchants the most.

And yes, some were willing to quit the game, including me, when the nerf would have been the first draft or close to the first draft of the nerf. However, the most important thing for most of those who complained was to be able to run their business as they could before the nerf. This now is possible for most of the players who spent the skillpoints for their vendors.

I am still not happy with the limits, they should be higher. But I can run my current business with the post-nerf numbers, thats the important thing. However, they didnt manage it to patch without problems, and we still wait for the hotfix that removes all our vendors :.)

I absoluteley agree. The nerf leaves you with 250 items if you have mastered Artisan and even 750 items if you have novice merchant (which you need to get your vendor on the map). That is by far enough to run an excellent shop.

That empty vendors vanish is a relief. And as an acrhitect I could sense a rise in orders on the first day of the patch, there is much more focus on the full shops now.

The only thing that is bothering a little is, that you wont be able to go on a 2 week vacation, because then your vendor will be gone.

The vendor nerf was 13845532% worse when first introduced as compared to the version that finally got installed.

Yeh, i knew the nerf got nerfed, but it was known to people and alot of posts were from players saying that they will quit regardless. You people that have replied so far, appearantly aren't those posters i spent along time readin awhile back. The tone was way different heh. Maybe they did quit, and that why they aren't ranting here. Maybe i need to check the artisan forum, nah, ZZzzzzzzzzz
