Thread: Hey SOE, Ideas for new armor... revamp stuff! Please Read, DEV's and Players alike.

IMO, adding new art to the game would slow down the revamp too much to get included. First the artists/modelers have to create the art assets, then they have to be approved by LucasArts to make sure they're "iconic" Star Wars (or for items that have already been seen like the Clone Trooper armor, that they properly match the film versions).
The only thing on your list currently in game is the Scout Armor, the rest would have to go through the creation/approval process. And the depending on how it is currently implemented, the Scout Armor might need some work to split it into pieces (NPCs are always wearing a full suit) and adjust it to "warp" onto different PC body types.
Personally, I'd prefer that the CU goes out first, and new armor added later. I'm strangely drawn to wearing a Gungan shield on my arm, especially if there was a (very low) chance of doing a "reflect shot" with it back to my attacker.

Since the new revamp coming, how about idea's for some new armors? Examples...
Nabooian Blast Armor - as seen on Naboo guards in Ep 1.
Clone Trooper Armor - possibly a new type of "rare" armor such as Mandalorian.
Scout Trooper Armor - all Imperial players want it!
Rebel Trooper Fatigues - the outfits worn by Rebel Troopers in Ep 4.
Stalker Armor - an armor only wearable by Rodian players ( no I am not Rodian ).
Jedi Armor - similar to the Dark Armor worn by Dark Jedi and Sith warriors as mentioned in the essential guide.
Gungan Personal Shields - creepy sounding, but can protect from most damages due to older technology.
Just some thoughts!

I doubt Clone trooper armor would really be thatrare... think of all the clone troopers that must have died in the clone wars, there must be loads of bits and pieces of armor lying around on various planets around the galaxy, so I think yes make it rare but nowhere near as hard to get as Mandalorian. Other than that some good ideas...

Ya but in the past stories, think of all the Mandalorians who died as well. Know what I mean?

Also, If SOE ever does time lines etc... in a few years the Black Sun (if armor is made like the new helmets) they fall due to the death of Prince Xizor. That armor, if made should be stopped from distribution as well. Thats all I'm saying.

Ya true in a way, but if they were allowed to add Swamp Trooper armor (scout armor thats green and isn't what the REAL swamp trooper armor looks like) why couldn't they do anything else without aproval. But from what they are saying is we will see lots of new weps and new armor in the combat revamp... I'm just hopeing for the best
