I have a quick question about joining the alliance. I am interested in joining not as a pilot but as a ground person!! I was wondering is there a way or certain person to see? I am currently on Tatooine.

You need to talk to a rebel recruiter. They are often found in the back rooms of cantinas in places like Coronet, Moenia, Anchorhead, and in the Capital building in Dearic. You should also be able to talk to a rebel NPC who has the converse option in the radial menu to be recruited. You will need 200 rebel faction points (FP) to join.

Thx for the help but another stupid question!! I love being such a noob! How do you get rebel faction points? Or am I answering my own question by saying getting missions at rebel mission terminals?

Correct, if you find a rebel recruiter there are probably rebel mission terminals nearby. Run these missions til you get 200 FP, it will take you a couple of hours. Easy and fun places to run rebel missions is out of the Rebel Outpost on Rori and the Rebel Base on Corellia, as access to these areas is easier than running through a city, Anchorhead is nice for this too, but Rori has a starport! You'll probably want to have some moderate combat skills or buffs if you run missions on Rori as some of the wildlife can be a bit testy. Once you are a declared rebel (not overt per se) you can get faction from killing Imperial NPCs, the rebel themepark, random NPC quests, or running faction missions. You will notice a slightly higher FP gain from missions once you join the alliance. Be careful though, running faction missions will give you a temporary enemy flag (TEF) and you will be attackable by overt Imperials.

Another (and sometimes faster) way to gain 200 faction points (fp) is to search the bazaar for Rebel Transmission disks 1, 2, 3, and 4. Once you have all 4, you can assemble them and take them to a recruiter who will reward you with 200 fp.

These items are dropped as loot from low and medium level npc's. They are often found on the major city bazaars for a few thousand credits. Beware when shopping. There are other rebel disks (Rebel Orders 1-3) and Imperial Transmissions that don't work for this purpose.
