Thread: What is going on? Help a newbie...

Okay, I've been playing a long time but I'm obviously a noob because I've never had this happen...
I'm buffed (out another 15k) and show up for my Hurton Stalker mission (I'm ramping up TKM/Doc with an alt character) and right as I arrive I'm immediately slain by "A-Dewey" or someone to that effect, a Dark Jedi Master. What is going on? I'm so new to this character I have no factions, nothing. I"m out my 15K, need to get med treatment all because I'm slain immediately on hitting my mission. Is this happening to other people? This is ridiculous. To top it off my system then crashed. What a great start to the night.

Yes - its happened to me as well - there are NPC Dark Jedis that spawn occasionally and attack anyone or anything nearby....I landed once (just got buffed in Coro) at the Mining Outpost on Dant and saw in spatial "RUN" - next thing I know I was slain by the Dark Jedi Knight NPC...Really nothing you can do about it - just one of those hazards of going to Dant...

There's a static Dark Jedi spawn about 1 km away from the mining outpost. Some people think it's funny to "pull" the NPC into the outpost to kill lots of other players. 
There's no real way to be safe from it except to avoid the mining outpost, as far as I know.

That sounds about right, it was pretty close to the outpost. Most missions have been further away. It's the first time it's happened, and I've run quite a few which was why Iwas so surprised. I was dead before I ever got off my swoop. I went back after cloning and took a look and he was still there attacking the lair. I took off immediately

Yup! there's a dark jedi spawn near the mining outpost.....most of the time on my server it's a dark jedi master that spawns....the dark jedi knights are not hard to kill though (well for vets anyway)....but it happens to use all.....I had one spawn next to my lair about 2 weeks ago....I just stayed out of arggo range while he kept walking back and forth past me and my mission....hehe, I would have fought him if I wasn't in the middle of my FS grind.....I love fighting them

lol reminds me of the time about 20 or so people in the Mining Outpost decided they would put a stop to the rampaging Dark Jedi there.

No, I'm not upset, I just had no idea whatsoever that NPC Jedi were running around Dant. I have done tons of missions there and this had never happened to me so I was wondering what was up. I was upset about losing my 15K buff without doing a single mission but once everyone confirmed that this happens all the time I was fine. I was also a bitbummed that I couldn't even make it off my swoop before I got "offed".

I was on my swoop once, just riding along.......and wack,DJM took out me and my bike in one hit. I was amazed and pissed at the same time. just paid 15k for buff, and had to buy new bike, 25k.
