I keep fiding disks and tapes and spice and other weird stuff on the npcs I loot. I was wondering if they have any value at all, should I sell them, keep them, use them to craft? I didn't find in any guides what this stuff is worth. Can anyone direct me to a guide where I can find out about loot value or tell me this?

I would disagree... THe facts are all right, but I never destroy ANYTHING if I can avoid it. Even CDEF weapons (the most basic in the game) will sell for 30-50 credits each on the bazaar. It isn't much, but every little bit helps when you are just starting out. If you don't want your stuff try selling it there.

disks are usually for the most part useless. you should keep skill tapes and attachments. some of them are priceless.

Have a look on the trade forums and that should give you an idea how much some items are worth

Disks are usually multi-part transmissions ("Rebel orders", "Imperial Plans", etc). If you get all the pieces, you can combine them into a single readable disk. These can be turned into a recruiter (both Imp and Rebel, no matter what the disk is about) for credits. And if your character isfactioned, I think you get a faction point reward.
Tapes (clothing attachments and armor attachments) can be put into any clothing/armor with open sockets, and give a skill bonus when that clothing/armor is worn. Depending on what skill it enhances, and by how much, these can sell anywhere from 5k to millions of credits.
Things like "jar of spice" are simply decorative items.
There are also "broken" items like datapads and viewscreens. In the first pass of the Loot revamp that got pushed to Live a couple publishes ago, there are apparently items that can also be looted to repair these and get some unique item. Repairing a viewscreen gives a painting, I'm not sure about datapads.
Looted weapons fall into two categories: non-DoT (Damage Over Time) and DoT. non-DoT are usually worthless except for the very rare "legendary" type (it'll be in the name). They'reworse than anything a mediocre weaponsmith can create, just destroy these. DoT weapons (having a "fire", "poison", or "disease" special bonus) can be very lucrative, especially if they damage the Mind pool with a high potency (chance of sticking), damage, and number of uses.
There are also crafting enhancements that drop from NPCs and some creatures. Things like Krayt scales/tissues are very much in demand from armorsmiths and weaponsmiths. Some NPCs drop schematics that can be learned by a crafter of the appropriate profession. Heavy leather and Heavy Metal Clasps drop in varying amounts, and are used by tailors in looted schematics.

Thanks for the help everybody. I'll keep the tapes and put the other stuff on the bazaar, following the average prices for the ones I can find there. It's just so much stuff that I was running out of place to keep them on the bank and didn't know what to do with those things.
