Im about to lay out 1mil on a set of ten BER 13 harvs, and I want to make sure Im buying the right ones. Im going to be grinding Tier 1 Shipwright chassis, which take 2k steel, 1k aluminium, 1k ore and 1k petro chem, but Im not quite sure about something.

I need a Deep Crust Chemical harvestor for the petro chem right? I see petrochem under both the Mineral and Chemical survey devices, so Im unsure. Is it any specific type of petro chem I need for Tier 1 chassis(ie, inert, solid, liquid..)?

I'd appreciate a quick answer, as Im sitting outsite the tent that sells the harvs now

Just my thoughts,I would get the meduim chem harvesters at a BER of 10.Since The deep crust chems are at BER 13 it does not warrent the extra money and power to maintain them for an extra 3 ber IMO.I only use meduims.but yes and chem. harvester is for petro chems, fiberplast.

Edit: The petro chem under Mineral is Solid Petro Chem.Under Chemical its Liquid Petro Chem.Thats the diffrence.

I used to think like that but in the long term ber13's are better as they can harvest more. If you can afford the heavys get them. Yes to get the inert petros for grinding s/w you need chem harvs.

Thanks for the help, Ive decided to go for Mediums for the moment, the initial outlay(250k as opposed to 1mil) and the upkeep costs were just too tempting. Ill probably suppliment them with bought resources from mission cash, and Ive got an Anniversary painting I can flog for an extra mil.

I agree. I used to think the Mediums were better because they are more cost efficient to maintain, but due to the extremely high resource requirements of SW and the fact that I can actually make enough to buy the larges selling ships very cheap I decided I needed the extra30 (3x10) BER at the cost of slightly higher maintenance.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

Aye, but with the changes to starter ships and the fact that I plan to specialise in RE'ing means I wont be making all that much money out of Shipwright until I hit Master, so my only income will be from 5k missions(novice pistoleer) and Space loot. Ill also only be grining Tier 1 chassis the whole way through, I cant be bothered with the hassle of gathering more resource types

Oh, and one start bandit: the reason you one star is probably because you find it hard to read normally, so here's a little message in your language: U R A RETARD. I gave you all ***** to compensate, thanks for the help lads, I appreciate it.
