Thread: Question about bestine mayor quest reward

Long time ago I did the quest in bestine with the mayor race. I voted for Sean Trenwell, he won and I received the stupid statue reward which I hated because its same as the crafted one.
I want the rug instead of the statue so I decided to try my luck again. I voted for him again, he won and now when I ask for the reward he tells me: "Reward? I think not, you already received one."
Does this mean that I cannot ever hope to claim the rug reward? Is this a once in the character lifetime thing? That would not make sence I mean I voted for the guy again, I did him a favor, why would he not reward me again?
Can anyone confirm if this is the way it is or am I bugged or something?

Just to add to this...
I got the same response from Victor a few elections ago. I thought I read somewhere that it is bugged so I just gave up on the voting until I heard that something had been corrected with this. It's disappointing to hear that this bug is still alive.
I am pleased to know that game breaking things like adjusting the rate of your walking acceleration is getting top priority however. /sarcasm_off

I'm pretty sure you wont receive the reward a second time until the opposing candidate has won,
so Victor has to win one before Sean starts handing out rewards again. However, it may very well
be that you will only receive one reward. I have the same issue...i want another Imperial banner from
Victor.

I know for a fact that victor has win in the time between my two votes for sean.

well, since you already completed the actual quest, you cannot do it again.
However, try finding a planetary record keeper, resetting, and doing the quest again, that could work.

It should be considered a bug though. With the way it is set up now it basically encourages you to alternate your vote every election rather than vote for the candidate that you actually want to win.

This is not a bug. After you vote for sean and he has won, you must vote for victor in the next election. THEN in the third election vote for sean again, and if he wins, you will receive another gift. The gifts are sort of a token of thanks for you joining their campaign. If you vote for either one two times in a row, you are already in their campaign the second time, so no gift.

I'll have to try this next election. I voted for Trenwell because I wanted another cool rug. My wife voted for Victor once and got a lame medal so I always voted for Sean every election. He just won again on Ahazi, and I was surprised when he refused to give me another gift.

Just to nitpick, it's not Mayor of Bestine, it's the assistant to the governor of Tatooine

I had voted for victor and got the medal, so I voted for him again as I wanted the banner. He told me that I already recieved the reward. I opened a ticket explaining what happened, and the CSR told me that after you get an initial prize there are 3 options they can give you. 1 being the banner/rug, 2 being statue/medal, or 3 telling you that you already got a reward.
I haven't gotten anything past that, since victor hasn't won again, or when I vote the other person wins, so I can't say if I'll get anything again.

I didn't know there were elections until our guild leader told us to go do it/ it takes 5 minutes/ blah blah blah/ PAINTING!/ Bestine/ Imperial......
That's what I got out of it hehe.
I collect paintings, when I can afford them lol.
