Thread: problem with macros/aliases

hello there, i tend to use a lot of macros and aliases to switch between things and to shorten commands, recently i have written a macro with aliases that switches between several weapons if i press on the icon i got for it in my toolbar and another one that switches between the certain specials for those weapons i got bound on my keyboard.
the weaponswitch macro switches to another toolbar, uses an alias to determine the weapon it needs to use, changes the alias to the next weapon afterwards and switches back to the first toolbar.
the specialswitch macro uses a lot of macros and i got aliases bound to the specific keys to use the specials.

but now to the problem with those two macros and their aliases:
i keep spamming chats i am in with a blank line everytime i use the macro or press a button to use a special, i know this can be solved by simply going to the spatial chat, but i got two chat-windows, one to actively chat and one to observe several chats in the meantime, so i can't fully switch away to spatial, the observe-window will always stay on one chat.

i have already searched for hidden lines in the macros that i might have accidentally built in but that didn't help.
the thing that puzzles me the most about it is that i am also using aliases and macros for my pets, also an alias that calls up a macro just like the one i am using for my weaponspecials, but they never did anything like that.
i think i also had an armor-switch macro once that did it and some time before did not.

does anyone know what exactly causes this behavior or a work-around for it (except killing my second chatwindow and always switching to spatial first)?
or is it maybe possible at least to bind a command to a key with another command-line?

well a single line huh? It isnt the typical JoeBlow:\#ff0066 or whatever your color code for chat is? I would think you have some sort of a \ or a carriage return hidden in a \

Ive had blank lines in macros before but cant remember for the life of me how they got there.

the only way to get rid of it is to rewrite the macro... cut and paste will just copy the \ ... take your time, don't type so fast and make sure you hit the enter key

hmm i've tried it with re-writing them all by hand now and it didn't help either.
it keeps spamming the blank line if i call up the alias that starts a macro, no matter whether i use a button on the keyboard to call it or not.
