Thread: Help with Multi-line House Signs

I am having trouble making a multi-line house sign.

I have re-mapped the copy and paste bindings.

I can copy and paste from the chat input window TO the chat input window.

I can copy from notepad to the chat input window.

I cannot paste into e-mail window. I cannot Copy from the e-mail window, either from stored e-mails or from one I am currently composing. I caoont paste into the house name window. I can target the house sign and type /name and paste into the chat input window, (From notepad) but the return after the first line acts as a return in the chat input window and I just get one line.

Has the ability to make multi-line names been nerfed? Could someone who knows how to do this please try it and verify that it still works?

If anyone can offer insight to my mistake, please do so.

Thanks,

Monsour

I just re-named one of my houses yesterday, and I canverify that multi-line house names are still possible.

You need to type '/no' to pull up your note pad, type the name of the house out just as you would like it, use the key commands that you created to "copy", then open up your house control panel, select the 'set name' command and then use the key commands that you created to "paste".

FYI: I used ctrl-shift-c for copy, and ctrl-shift-p for paste.

I tried using the /no for in-game notepad. Once again, I cannot seem to copy from or paste to anywhere BUT the chat input box. I highlight the text in the notepad (in-game) by dragging the mouse over it, and press my copy key (alt-c) but when I go to paste, it will only allow me to paste into the chat input box, and only pastes what I last copied from there. I CAN copy from the windows notepad into the chat input box, but that is the ONLY place I seem to be able to paste into. I have tried 2 different accounts on 2 different PCs. any help would be awesome.

Use the external windows notepad and ALT-TAB between the applications if the in-game version is playing silly buggers.

what have you remapped copy to, and paste to? it may be a conflict if you mapped it to simply ctrl-c since windows uses that.. i believe i had problems doing that so i did shift-ctrl-c and shift-ctrl-v for copy and paste

secondly, it should be noted that you can't copy from an email unless it's a composing window (new message window, reply window, forward window). i'm guessing your problem is what copy and paste or mapped to

C:\>cd Program Files\StarWarsGalaxies

C:\Program Files\StarWarsGalaxies>del *.*

C:\Program Files\StarWarsGalaxies\*.*, Are you sure (Y/N)? n

C:\Program Files\StarWarsGalaxies>/sigh

'/sigh' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file.

C:\Program Files\StarWarsGalaxies>cd ..\Sony\Station\LaunchPad

Don't forget to assign copy/paste commands to some key combination in the options panel. I use CTRL-SHIFT-C and CTRL-SHIFT-V (I think). Then type the sign info into notepad, copy, and paste. You can also use colors /#RRGGBB

It used to, and I love it. I have an old key map file from when you could remap it and I use it for many macro combos. ALT-H to harvest hide, ALT-M for meat, ALT-S for survey, etc.

If anyone really wants their mouse toggle button remapped to the Windows key and the ALT key unbound, PM me and I will email you the key map setting file that you can put in your profiles folder and use. You'd have to remap the keys you have set differently than the default, but the only thing that I changed is unbinding the ALT key and binding the Windows key to switch mouse mode.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

Thank you Xarth01 and everyone!!! For the record, ALT was the problem. using ctrl-shift-v and ctrl-shift-c it works. Alt-c and alt-v worked in the fouled up manner that I described. Problem solved - thanks again!!
