Have been lookin in all the usual places for days now and no sign of them. It used to be you could walk right out of the outpost and run into them. And yes I have been to the NW corner yada yada yada.

Just curious if they are actually spawning.

EDIT NOTE: This thread was started for after the 11.2 patch, but since 11.3 has gone live it might still be relevant in the vain hope that the spawn might have increased or been fixed. Happy hunting!

first off...do a search before making a new post..youll prob find all old subjects already answered =)

and yes....black sun still spawn on Y4....but they are pretty dang rare....and BH armor drops are even rarer.....good luck =) i still have my full BH armor suit ==) 4/10 modded pieces...

First off you assume that I hadn't done a search. I have. Most of the posts are old and outdated and detail an era of time when, as I said in my post, you could walk out of the outpost and run into Black Sun spawns. Did plenty hunting of them then and found plenty.

Second the rest of your post is typical of these forums in that you just want to brag and preen your feathers for everyone here. Good for you that you still have your BH suit. Here's a cookie.

Now back to the original point of the post. Has anyone seen them since the latest patch? The last reply was less than informative since his whole point was to brag about his full suit of BH which makes me doubt he is still out finding rare Black Sun spawns. Let alone in the last few days, cos god knows I haven't seen you.

And there is a difference between rare and non-existent. So for any of you non-griefing posters that may still exist out there, any HELPFUL info?

yes, 2 days ago but it was pure luck. Wasn't searching for them.

They have become incredibly more rare than they used to be. And yes I have tried the area clear with no results really. Somedays it's actually hard to find spawns of anything. The NW corner as of today is just a ghost town, no stintarils, mamiens, or klikniks, let alone Black Suns. And as much as I know that these types of threads have been brought up, mine is coming from more of the point of view that I had no trouble finding them before. And the devs are known for their "discreet" nerfing. Who knows what the logic would be on nerfing the Black Sun spawns, seeing as how it was hard enough to assemble a full suit of BH back when they were more prevalent (relatively).

Sigh indeed....

Hey Havoc (nice forum name btw ),

I have been trying to find, hunt, kill BS for the armor drops now too for some time. However, as you state they seem to be getting rarer, and the wild spawn rates of all creaturesseem to have dropped off recently too (altho this could just be my luck, or lack of it).

So far I have over 100 BS kills and not a single piece of armor, in fact their loot sucks badly considering how hard they are to kill...but thats another topic.

I havent tried to hunt them in the last couple of weeks as I got too annoyed at not getting anything...HOWEVER....

it was this that also made me think about stopping for a while: I have had several (personally unconfirmed) reports that it is now a loot drop in space from BS tier 4 ships!

There you go, dont have JTL? well, then you dont get BH armor.....wonder if that is whats really happened....

Well in response to the last couple posts...

I had also heard that rumor, but find it hard to believe having killed hundreds of Black Sun in space. If that was the case, it would make it much much easier in a way since I know where Black Sun tier 4s spawn continuously and don't have much problem dispatching them. But again, I seriously doubt that is the case and have yet to see any solid proof that they are dropping any sort of ground based loot in space.

As to the Black Sun helmet, is that even live yet? I thought it was coming with 11.3.

I was really just looking for confirmation of what I already suspected...that either the spawns were bugged or that they have been nerfed for some secret reason by the devs. I was looking for information so I could stop wasting my time looking for them if any of the2 aforementioned circumstances were actually true. I have a chest piece already and would love to finish the suit, but there are plenty of other things for me to do in the meantime. So thanks to those who actually tried to be helpful, much appreciated.

I also have a feeling that the devs are gearing that spawn up for the new loot system, so maybe they will magically reappear after 11.3. Who knows? Just have to wait and see.
