Thread: Bounty Hunter Exploit Questions
If I'm supposed to kill you, and you body rises from the dead - you're not dead. You're still alive and then my bounty is not done and I can still attack...makes sense to me. If you clone, that body is gone and you get a new one and the bounty hunter cannot attack you anymore...that also makes sense to me. I fail to see how that is a bug. Being dead and gone is having to make a new clone, and if you can't scare away, kill, or pay off the bounty hunter to leave your corspe it is what I thought playing the game was. To me it is much more of an obvious exploit of the game to use an alternate charater to make sure you never clone your jedi.
So the question is: why should a jedi with an alternate doctor NEVER have to clone (and it is "exploiting" to make them clone they say), and jedi without an alternate doctor are forced to lose the maximum amount of points evertime they die? I'd love to hear answers from an administrator about this, and not upset jedi players who hate bounty hunters.

Heh the jedi would like to think it is. Bottom line- if I kill a jedi and he provokes me (smack talking etc.) I will hang around and kill him again. This happens 9/10 times. I probably have done this 20-30 times and have been "reported to a CSR" but nothing has happened.
The Jedi would like to make you think this is bannable yet I have never heard or seen someone being banned for this.

I have been told by several jedi players that after the bounty has been completed on them it is considered an exploit to stick aound and make sure they clone. I have been told this is called "jedi camping" and people have been banned for it. It seems perfectly logical to me that the reason a bounty hunter can still attack a jedi after they have been death blowed is to make them clone. What kind of satisfaction for a completed bounty is it if the jedi gets up off the ground and gets out of losing all of the possible points? I have noticed that most jedi have a doctor as an alternate character that they have come revieve them so they don't have to clone, and if you don't let them heal their jedi they yell and scream that you are cheating. If the jedi is using an alternate doctor character or a friend to try to save them, the only possible way to make sure they clone is by standing near the corpse and making sure it does not come back to life, so how this is illegal and a bannable offense?

You would have a very valid point about "completing your mission" IF you didn't receive your reward until the Jedi cloned. In that case by all means set up camp and break out the marshmallows! If people are camping corpses just so they clone and loose the XP it's kinda crappy but I don't think anyone should be bannedand CSRs SHOULD NOT be rezing players. No CSR came to rez my ATST after I was ganked by a couple of loosers on Dant, same principle here.
But all and all do unto others as you would have them do to you, just play nice, incap the Jedi, take your bragging rights screen shot, and move on, so what if he gets up, that just means another challenge for another day.

Last night on Bloodfin a Jedi was rezzed by a CSR and a BH was warned for corpse camping. Its not just camping Jedi.. its camping ANYONE. It falls under harrassment.

Names and personal information have been blacked out, as has the jedi himself, as the Jedi wears rather identifying clothing.

Think about this: If you die one time and get rezzed, then you only lose 30k xp as a Jedi, but(s)he isn't allowed to lose more than that otherwise it is an exploit.

No one has even attempted to answer the questions I asked.
Try this then - explain a situation when a jedi with an alternate character for a doctor would have to clone. And if the answer is "never," then clearly they are exploiting the game because jedi are supposed to lose points when they clone.
tkdnick wrote:Someone answered your question already. The Bounty Hunter receives their reward when the Death Blow is made. NOT when the Jedi clones. The Bounty TEF technically should end at that point but it is bugged and continues to stay active. If the Bounty Hunter dies to the Jedi, there is not a TEF for the Jedi to attack the Bounty Hunter after he gets a rez. Do you understand now how it is a bug and therefore the use of the bug to give the Bounty Hunter the advantage is an exploit.
I didn't ask a question about the TEF system. Please read the post carefully. I made a comment that the current state is logical. Like you said, if the jedi or someone else kills the BH, the BH loses any abililty to attack. That seems perfectly logical. If the jedi gets DB'd and does not clone the BH can still attack. That also is logical because the jedi is still there unless the clone. I can't imagine how mad I would be if I couldn't ever complete a bounty on a jedi if I had to make them clone, because all the jedi use their alternates as doctors so the don't have to clone. Because of that fact it seems only fair to give the bounty hunters their small reward just for getting a death blow in, and punish the jedi for letting a bounty hunter complete a mission on them.
So, NO I do not understand how that is a bug... a bug that happens everytime? That is programing to me.
