Fellow SWGers,
I have fallen prey to the bug of disinterest, sadly. What did me in was the very interesting post concerning the Jedi grind (see Jedi profession forum). To say the least, it floored me. I'm currently getting ready to begin my FS grind which by the way I was prepared for. Then came along the news about 90-110 or so hours of Jedi grind. Ouch...
Then came along the gift of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Metal Gear: Snake Eater. Double and triple Ouch...
I've been on board since July '04 and am having a blast. I just seem to log on less frequently these days, even though I have more time on my hands because of the holidays. Even my wife is asking what's wrong!
So share with me your stories of success in regards to getting out of the disinterest phase. This may help others as well.

Same here(well, pretty much).
The only thing thats keeping me right now is that im a Star Wars nut/geek(its No, I, am your Father!-darth Vader) and the fact that US and European games can connect to the Japan servers(or will when they fix the bug lol, but I can wait for that)
So, unless you really want to try something new(Japanese servers for me) I can't tell you what to do.

what have you done so far? with that i might be able to offer suggestions..
for me fun in the game comes from little things like battle droid fights, to bigger things like pvp, to in-between stuff like simply trying out new professions and templates.. there's still tons i have not tried tho to be honest they're a bit lower on my interest scale.. but hey i never thought i'd enjoy rifleman either

Hey there. The thing that I find helps me (outside of the fact that "my wife" hates when I play too much) is while I am playing (although only 2-3x a week) I too try to do as many new things as I can. The most I have is when I do things with my fellow guildmembers but always trying something new (eg. Hunting by tracking, PVP, exploring areas I haven't been to, JTL missions, Missions for money, on and on....).
My latest is trying to help my Guild Leader recruit and build up our city.
The funny thing is, with regard to boredom, I see a lot of people say that or complain about running out of things to do. Hmmmm. I have been only playing since Sept '04 I know and have seen a lot thus far but nowhere toward seeing everything and, like another player that posted, I too am not interested in doing everything.
I am a SW fanatic too and have a hard time imagining getting bored with SWG. As long as the Devs, LA and SOE keep building upon what they have started, we'll all have lot's to do.

Simple answer: Tak a break.
Play something else for a change. Nobody said you have to play SWG 24/7. SWG will be here when you get back.

Well, since this is a multiplayer game, I base my experiences on who I associate with. I log on to see my friends, so to speak. I also agree with the 'take a break' philosophy. Nothing refreshes you more than taking a couple days off here and there.

The key to staving off boredom is to keep trying new stuff. Don't do the same things over and over. For a glimpse of what can be done...I dare you to start a "Conga Line" in Theed. These used to be all the rage back in Nov 2003...and they were fun to see. (set a pet on a patrol route...and set yourself to auto-follow it, then someone else follows you with their pets following them...very quickly you can get 20-30 people doing a Conga

When you do log in, have a specific goal in mind. "Today I am going to...something." For example, only by breaking my FS grind into manageable, bite-sized chunks was I able to maintain my sanity. "Today, I am going to do my two caps, and log out."
Also, I think participating in server and/or guild events is useful, even if takes away from your grinding time. Sure, I don't NEED to do the JtL ace pilot mission again, and I'm not going to get anything useful for doing it again, but if I've got a guildie who needs help with it, I'm going to go.
The game is about the experience, not the experience points. Once I realized that, everything brightened.
