I was catching up on my e-mail and got one of these e-mails congratulating me on getting 75k credits. I'm confused about it, too.

Kind of cool, though

Yup, I got one too. Very odd imo. Its a nice gesture, but you cant exactly buy much with 75k these days. I would have preferred some sort of unique item. Would have been cool to get a special color crystal if you have a jedi account, and some other cool unique item if you dont have a jedi.

I'm a role player, and I got it. As for the amount of credits, yes, it's true it doesn't buy much, but you should never look a gift horse in the mouth. That 75k actually helps a toon out that I use to play with my step-son

Besides, 75k credits doesn't take up inventory space anywhere, which is a plus

First of all you have to be a JTL subscriber in order to get the 75k credits.

I'd make sure your email account is uptodate but you should get the 75k credits as long as you have upgraded to JTL.

All my characters I had made on other servers besides my main one got the 75k

The 75k was the other part of theupgrade for new players... The one that gives you a ship which can be upgraded and comes with a hyperdrive.

I had read about the 75k credits a week or two ago in the JTL forum.

Thankyou SOE,especially my noobie characters on those other servers whomgreatly appreciate the 75k.

I meant SOE are punishing thse of us who reroll, ie, those of us who's characters actually DIE sometimes. My old character.....well thats a plot Im not going to post about, but I created a new one two weeks ago, which means I get NOTHING, even though Ive been here since Euro launch.

Ill keep saying this: It. Should. Be. Tied. To. Account. Age. Not. Character. Age.

While I have real sympathy for you Gadon there is a problem. They would need to add a tracker that checks the character to the account, this would be needed to stop you from re-rolling and doing the quest again. Not suggesting you would, but I suspect there are some out there who would do so until they got the specific painting they wanted.

The reason this won't happen is that it will take programming time and add extra links into the game to have to check back to the login screen, if it was in already then if we changed character name we would be able to still access stuff, we can't.

Only the Life day gifts are tied to character age.
The 75k gift is not tied to character age, but is limited to only one character per server... So if you deleted that character and started a new one you wouldn't be able to get another free 75k, a good thing too.
I tested it out yesterday and made a new character on a server I didn't have any characters on and besides the 1000 credits you normally start out with I found another 75k was in my bank box.
