How long does my character stay around? I would like to know, because I might switch to another game (possibly EQ2 or WoW). Does anybody know?

A week after your month or payment ends...

Your character will remain in teh database for 6 months, after that, it will be perm deleted. I canceled my account a while ago and resubscribed to give my friend my gear, so all my stuff was still there.

Your character will theoretically remain forever.

The last time I checked, they guaranteed 3 months.

A while back they said they would be purging all characters on accounts that had not been active for 6 months but to the best of my knowledge they have not yet done this.

As far as I know, they have never deleted characters on inactive accounts.

Yeah, they usually dontdelete accounts, but the warranty is 6 months. If they need to delete, after 6 months they do.
