I've had three newbies today (created post CU, pre Pub 18) ask me why their Token Respec didn't get them "Master BH" or whatever and will it work when they try it out in 12 hours again.
YOU CANNOT GAIN SKILL BOXES WITH TOKEN RESPEC YOU DIDN'T ALREADY HAVE!!
These newbies higher level "friends" are telling them stuff like "Oh wow, i just got CL54 with my respec" or "It's awesome, I'm a master BH now, rule!!!11" then these CL7 newbies use up their ONE TIME respec switching from 2201 to 4000 Marksman and wonder what happened. Or my friend that dumped a few Carbineer boxes to pick up one extra BH box and wanted to know if he could finish it again later.
ONLY USE RESPEC AFTER YOU'VE MASTERED TWO ELITE PROFESSION! Token Respec is used to SWITCH from one profession to another completely, it is NOT to be used to "finish off" a profession or "get that last box I didn't want to grind out".
Any use of it pre-master is just wasting your gift from the Devs. Please don't make this mistake that many of my friends have. It's not "every 12 hours" it's "12 hours from CU Respec" which you didn't get anyway. Please don't use this command without FULLY understanding how it works for you and how best to make use of it. Ask veteren players for assistance, don't listen to "friends" who just got the game and powerleveled to 80 in three weeks off Bol groups and have never even SEEN Endor nor heard of Rori or other such glaring misunderstandings of SWG.
SAVE YOUR TOKEN RESPEC!!

How can you "not use" a token respec?? My token respec said it must be used in "this play session", after which, it cannot be used again. If you pass up the chance to use it and log out, you dont get the chance again. That how it has been on all my characters anyway.

From the Patch Notes:
- You may choose to use your Token Respec upon receipt or to use it at a later date – this option remains available for you until you use it unless otherwise notified.
- Although there is no limit on how quickly you use the Token Respec option, once you commit the template by confirming that it is final you will not have another respec opportunity.
The "final respec" from June 8th was the "must be used this play session" one, and unfortunately Tiggs chose today to post that message about that expired respec in Dev Tracker and Update Notes, so it's rather confusing.

I disagree partially here.
I was CL 25 and a few boxes into BH. I was 0/1/2/0. Also had Novice Commando, Novice Creature handler, Novice Pistoleer, Brawler 4/4/4/0, Marksman 4/4/4/4 (but not Master), Scout 4/0/4/0.
I respeced to BH 4/1/1/2, TKA 0/0/0/0, Brawler 4/4/4/0 Marksman 0/3/0/4, Scout 4/0/0/0, Medic 0/0/3/0.
With this setup I was CL30 (now CL35 and climbing fast soloing on Dantooine for 2700+ a mob) after respec and don't have to do ANY of the annoying Investigations experience!!!!
Now I can take missions in peace without grinding up that experience!!
So an early respec can HELP you get Master. You can do the math before you open the respec window and make sure you have enough experience to get what you want learned.

well i think its much better to simply grind out what you think you like then save the respec cause you might not enjoy it as much as you think, personally im saving mine until the ability gets revoked (if it ever does) or when i get jedi and use it in a way to try out another template. Using it just to get a box or 2 is a waste and i think it was a good idea for the orignal poster to put this down, but its your token respec so use it however you like, just some people arent as informed as you

Yup, exactly.
I would recommend Merchant for newbies.
Although it does take a couple of weeks, it's fairly cheap and you can do other grinding while you wait.
Also the newbie can start with 1 or 2 harvesters andmine his/herselfsome Ore and Gemstones for grinding Architect. The grinding part is easy if you just have the resources.
