Ok so i just got a factory deed (equiptment one) and made a schematic for a bio-controller. I put same materials i used in draft schematic in the input hopper, put in power and also maintence. Now how i start it? where i use the schematic at?

there are no options besides the admin, hopper access and the status and payign power an dmaintence or destroying it besides the options. And the only 2 commands under options is input hopper and output hopper.

Dont tell me i got wrogn one and i needed a food one for a bio-controller?

can anyone help me out?

There is a start factory option in the same menu as the input hopper option.

Talision, I realy, realy hate to say this to you, but I think you got the wrong factory. It takes a FOOD FACTORY to make medical components and items. It is called a food factory in the listing but it is for both food and chem, just like the crafting tool. Maybe with luck the person you bought it off of wil let you exchange it for the proper one.

Also some small advice, is that there is currently a bug that does not take items from crates for your ingrediants. You have to load each component seprately from your crate of items into the hopper. So till this is fixed, you can only build say a stim pak c crate of 32 items. 1 spot for organics, 1 spot for inorganics, 32 bio effect controllers, 32 chem stablizers, and 32 Liquid Suspension.

Hope that helps you out

grrrr dang no edit option on board.

Also know that you get hardly zero XP nowfrom items made in factory in case you did not know. So unless you are making Bio effect controlers for the identical components, you are best to maybe have the factory make the small stuff and assemble your big stim paks and meds by had for the full XP value. That is unless you are like me and making cratese of Stim B's for your guild mates to make it better for them to carry them in mass.

I too am having problems with the factory. My friends and I baught ourselves a generic/weaps factory. We deployed it. Payed some maintanance, put some power into it, loaded in a generic shematic (we tried camp kits, laser knives, CDEF Rifles) and enough resources to cover the entire run. Push the start button and nothing happens except a email saying my factory finsished producing 0 items. We tried spearating out the resources and many different combinations. We also noticed the ingrediants list made no sense and always ended with "ounts 100". We figure the 100 may refer to the number on the schematic when we made those. Also my two friends that I added to the admin list could not actually access the ingredients hopper which kinda makes it tough for them to actually use the cursed machine.

ok.... factory tis from Sasheria... the Master Architect

1. There are four types of factory matching four types of station: Equipment, Food, clothing, and Structure.

Equipment: covers weapon, items, power up*, anything that you can make with a weapon toolkit

Food: this covers food and medicine

Clothing: need those factory made synthetic fiber? this is what you need. makes clothing and armor

Structure: this is for all your architect out there save you a bundle I tell ya (also takes up 2 structure point compare to everything else)

How to use my Factory!

1. you need to create a schematic. This can be done via respective station. You can create a schematic and make 100 exact prodcut.

2. Load schematics. This will load any schematic you created. If a list doesn't pop up.. you might have the wrong factory or no schematics made.

3. once loaded, you can show "list ingrediant in schematics" this will tell you what you need (it has to be exact name... no substititute.. so if you use onif titanium aluminum.. you can'y use eggib titanium aluminum) the "Ount" is suppose to be "Count" which mean how many more you can make with this schematic.

4. load ingrediant... remember.. it will continue to make until it runs out of ingrediant (any one or all)

5. Output hopper.. this is where you can pick up your final product.. HINT!: you can pick up product EARLY without stopping your production.. just click output hopper and release (don't click stop) it will open your output hopper.

Why do I need a factory?

1. You need it to make advance things. If you have notice, there are serial number on each item. Factory made item have EXACT serial number (that is how the game detemind what is factory made and not)

2. SAVE resource. Unless it is bug (rare will cover this at the end) you NEVER fail. And it will produce to the SAME spec EVERY time for upto 100 times

3. You get 10% while you are doing something else.. not too shabby

*Bugs with Factory!

Ok.. this will cover some the area that factory owner should be aware about.

1. Crate bug! you can't take item out of it... or it takes too long to come out.. wait for it. If you click it and choose "1) take item out of resource crate" wait for that first item to appear. It does take from 1 second to 10 second to appear. If it does not appear, i.e. rubber band effect. then wait for about 10 min and try again.

2. It ATE my resources. This is a weird one. I was able to reproduce. The output box can hold upto 10,000 item (so it says) sometimes the hopper is holding too many items.. this may cause you to lose new item creation and stop production.... just take out the item from the hopper and start again.

3. DO NOT use to make POWER UPS!. currently bugged. You may have a great schematic for it, but when taken out of the crate. If you make a crate full of Couplers.. all it will say is "coupler" with no powerup effect...

4. POSSIBLE BUG: some schematic are SERIAL number dependent.. keep this in mind when making final finish product. For example. I make a lot of manufacting mechanism which requires Generator Turbine... it is Serial number specific.. which means even I have another factory made generator turbine.. it will not work. some items is not serial number specific (like wall modules need 10 structure modules)

Helpful tips!

1. ALWAYS put maint in your factory.. it is expensive when it breaks.

2. all items from the same schematics will have the same serial number no matter if you stop production in the middle of the process.. keep this in mind when making complex items.

3. ALL crates takes up 5 inventory slot. (even if there is only 1 item in it!)

4. Be careful when dropping crate on the ground (not recommended) sometimes it get permanantly stuck in your home.. and need CSR to remove it.

5. If you want to make 20 out of 100 items and it takes 50 steel each.. just put in 1000 steel and it will stop making once it run out.

6. They will leave change!! so if I put in 1005 steel and it takes 50 to make. it will make 20 and leave 5 in the input hopper (NOTE: if there it is not a complete use of the schematic.. this may EATS the resources instead and leaves you nothing) Change usually are left if you are using up the schematics (the factory will consume the resources as it tries to make another)

7. currently: You DO NOT get exp while log off or being too far from your factory (like 300m) so keep it close to your home until this is fix.

8. ONLY YOU can use the factory (it is bugged like admin for homes) you can add people to the factory, but they can't access the input/output hopper (don't think this is fix yet)

That is about it.. if there any mistake or changes.. please let me know

Thanks greatly Chibi-Bar for the tips. I would try these out but our factory decided to go "Poof" last night. Took 3 of us quite awhile to get the resources and cash together we needed for our friendly architect to make us one. If we had known that ony the owner could use it we would have waited on placing the building.

However the ingredients still bother me (on the off chance we actually get it back or decide to take it on the chin and get another one). The main thing I wanted to make was Precsion Laser knives (later on Clamps and FANS). To create a prtotype you need 70 70 & 20 metal. In the ingrediants list it had some word like Oesig then followed by a number believe it was 14. Next line had the Ount 100 (as you explained). The "Ount I get" but I tried surveying for anything called "Oesig" but it didn't appear in any of my survey tools. So are you saying that even though a protype may take any, in this case, generic metal but to do a run in a factory takes a specific type of metal? Even though it may or may not exist on your planet? Or did we just get a bugged factory?

Thanks again for the info. At least I know how factories are meant to work ... in theory

Problem with using parts that are serial numbered eh? Might explain why I can't seem ta get my factory to make a batch of Mouse Droids with Med Modules in them
