Well, if it was a %, you would never die in the lava, just get to a really low health. But we do die in the lava after the 3rd-4th hit of damage, depending on your health. So I think its save to assume its a set amount. But I got a Mustafarian Mining sut wiith Clothing Toughness 3, not sure if that would cause me to take less damage in the lava, I'm gonna try to test it.
