Thread: The Myyydril Caves Weaponsmith quest

Spoke to Treesha the weaponsmith in the Myyyydril caves on Kashyyyk, and was given a weaponsmith only quest (new schem thinks I), the gist of which is to craft 5 Nak'tra crystal knives, each requiring 3 crystals(15 in total), the crystals can only be obatined from the Unsor'il beetles which live deeper in the cave, i travelled there to find these creatures are level 76 and higher...myself being a level 54 Master Weaponsmith +2/Master Rifleman, decided that discretion was the better part of valour and went and got some friends....after a few nights of dying lotsand killing about 200 level 76+ beetles, we finally secured enuff crystal to craft the knives, which i did. I rushed back to the weaponsmith expecting a lusciuos new schem for my hard work..........I got 6000 cr. :-/ (my friends and I went thru about 20k's worth of condition each on our armour and weapons for nothing)
Am more than a little disapointed. There are quests in the game that are easier and yield far greater reward (the clone armour quest for 1)I thought everyone would get content suited to there level and craft...seems I was wrong..
Don't do this quest it's a waste of time and effort!!!

so that's what those crystals are for... got about 20 or 30 of those things layin around. no quests after that one?

Err - you did get a new schematic. The schematic for the Nak'tra crystal knife.

Err - you did get a new schematic. The schematic for the Nak'tra crystal knife.

oh you are right...I can just see the punters flocking to my door for these awesome knives.....u will be able to rip Necrosis apart with the amazing 30max dam 25 base dps...............

Somebody in the weaposnith forum made one and got slightly different results:
Nak'tra crystal knife
condition: 889
CL: 40
skill required: none
damage --
base type: kinetic
speed 2.2
damage 377-716
accuracy bonus: 1
wound: 33.35%
estimated dps: 248.08
range 0-5m
special attack cost: 106
Still not the greatest weapon in the game - but I don't think I'd whine about the quest being completely useless either.

I am not whining...seems u don't recognise sarcasm when u meet it. My point is that the quest is very hard for a weaponsmith to complete...and in return u get something that nobody will want to buy or use, Why not give us one of the new "wookie" polearms.......something that is useful

People dont usually pay good money for grinding weapons. The time you would spend using level 40 weapons doesnt seem worth the hassle.

i have not done this mission but i did do the boba fett missions and i felt very much the same way at first. i got an extremely average needler carb and 30k. not much. when he told me to come back later i figured it was all over. nope just conversed again and low and behold more missions. got a pretty good rifle (B, B- in grade you can also choose a carb instead).
so while initially these might seem like a waste of time try talking to him again.
