I don't think Ranged users can be very defensive because of the damage multiplier melee gets vs. ranged.

i would go x3xx in tka instead of xxx3. states are better than melee/ranged i think. plus once your over 80-90 melee/ranged its not really much of a difference i find.

Try either:
4304 TKA / 4400 Fencer / Master Pistoleer / 0040 Smug / Novice Medic
For Ranged Defense Stacking
or
4304 TKA / Master Fencer / 1044 Pistoleer / Medic 0040
For Melee
Both these templates max your range/melee defense
gives 3range and 2melee mit on the 1st one and
2range and 3melee mit on the 2nd one
VERY high dizzy, posture change, and KD resist.
On the ranged version youll need to get pistol spd tapes thought
to cap your pistol. Keep in mind with the range template:
You start a fight with a baton, Dizzy target, Switch to Pisol and
Lowblow, last ditch at cap.... Very nice.

Good stuff. I am trying to get a tanking template. Ranged isn't good for this job in my mind because of the bonus melee gets when attacking ranged oponents.

with the ranged defense stacking template I have there....
you have like
130 range def /w 2 auckan rings
170-175 melee def /w no addons
range mitigation 3
melee mitigation 2
125 dodge before food and tapes
with that template If the person can even HIT you (high defense which makes landing harder,
high dodge) the melee mitigation 2 will subvert alot of that damage.
If you keep your targets intimidated youll see even less damage comming.
