Wow. Just found this lovely piece...
Your opinion, Tiggs, would be at odds with many sincere participants who have written and signed petitions, I believe.
I was talking to a WoW player today, who was raving about how the management of their game actually responds to their concerns and questions and petitions. He has left SWG (reluctantly), due in large part to the combined frustration of slow progress andvery limitedresponse to issues from the development team. He said he would like to have some idea as to what and why in this game, even if he was not happy with the answer. More often than not, it seems, there is simply no response. Now I guess we can see why that is: you can't respond to posts you ignore.
He had a point. I rarely feel that I know where things are headed, or why certain decisions are as they are. It is pretty frustrating sometimes.
I understand that you cannot respond to each and every post. But to say that you have never even read or considered a petition seems fairly arrogant from my perspective. Oh, I am not a petition writer. But I would hope that you would at least want to be familiar with players concerns and desires. That sort of attitude makes spending any time writing here seem like a calculated time sink from the SOE team. "Let them vent their spleens while we do as we intend."
Obviously, at least some of the people who make and sign petitions hoped you would at least recognize their concerns and desires, even if they could not be addresed to the petitioners' satisfaction. I will read on to see how this unfolds in this post. But this is a very discouraging statement to those of us who hoped for a constructive attitude on both sides of the game development -- those providing and those receiving.

I'm sorry Tiggs wasn't having her best day. and didn't respondas well as she could have She spends 8-10 hours a day just reading and posting to these boards, and yes she hasn't been here for the entire life of the game. (Neither have I for that matter) Every day she brings a summary of issues to the Dev Team's attention and pushes usto get answers and action. She is working as hard for your interests as anyone on the team.
We do read the boards, even when we aren't responding to each and every thread.
P.S. If you want to get our attention on an issue, work with your correspondent. They are here to represent the professions and interests within the game.
I wonder which posts are read? Obviously, not the petitions. Any other form or player-attempted communication you routinely ignore? What exactly is summarized? The "Atta-boy" post forum? Maybe a list of communication you actually give a rip about would be helpful, and you can turn the other waste-o-bandwidth off.
Wow. I am impressed. I thought I had no political savvy.
Your right Tiggs, we are taking sides. Its the players Vs the SOE, and you say you dont read petitions, thats why all this happend, hmmm what is 11k+ times 15....oh well good luck
