Hi, newb question here. Should be pretty simple to answer.

What skills does it require to use a bowcaster? Are they only for wookiees?

Yep, bowcasters can only be used by Wookiees.

I can't answer, but I am also curious. I am a wookie, so I know I can use it, but will the xp i get be for pistol or rifle or carbine? And will my pistol skills be usable with the bowcaster?

Wookie only and works off rifle skill.

Bowcaster isa rifle, thus you get rifle xp and only rifle skills are applicable.

Note to allnewbs, bowcasters haveabout 100/100 max condition. Its just the way the devs made them, so don't be too upset if they wear out really fast.

DON'T regularly use /overchargeshot1 or 2 with your bowcaster.

I thought that was true (first one I bought was 120/120), but I bought a bowcaster with 1000/1000 from a shop right outside the rebel outpost on rori in Lowca.

When did you buy this bowcaster?

Unless they changed something with the patch, the 'caster you bought was a looted item.
