I had so much fun pre-CU, but, as a restarting level 8 novice marksman with 4 in Rifles and 3 in Ranged support, I can't even take down mobs my same level. Another thing I find odd is that monsters below my level actually take longer to kill and do more damage to me than higher ones do.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom on soloing early?

Lol, I'm not going to give you any words of wisdom, but I will give you an advise... You could go to Mos Eiesly, Tatooine and kill mods right outside the city. Or you can go to Dantooine, group up with a few 80's, and do a few missions... That will get your levels up faster then you can say "..."

and yes, LVL system is terrible, dumbing down the game in a big way
