Thread: Can I Fly both the Jedi Starfighter and the ARC-170?

I have been reading the Forums for some time now, at least a few weeks. There is infinite discussion about these two Spacecraft but this specific question, though raised many times, has never been answered clearly. I am in day three of playing SWG (This game totally Rocks) and haven't found the answer from players in-game either, So here it goes:

IS THIS POSSIBLE????

1. You start out a Privateer in space, you can still be an Imp on the ground and therefore get the Jedi Starfighter mission from Vadar, complete the mission, then quit the Imps. Since the requirement for the flight cert for the JS is that you have completed the mission, can you still fly it if you are no longer an Imp? - MAIN QUESTION ONE

2. You then build up some rebel faction and go Rebel combatant (remaining Privateer in space) and get the ARC-170 quest from the queen. Complete the mission, then quit the Rebels. Since the requirement for the flight cert for the ARC-170 is that you have completed the mission, can you still fly it if you are no longer a Rebel? - MAIN QUESTION TWO

3. You continue up the skill boxes in Privateer getting to 4333, low and behold there is the cert for ARC-170 and the Jedi Starfighter in the Privateer skill sets. Can I deed/fabricate/create/unlock/whatever terminology the ships and fly them both? - GRAND FINALE QUESTION!!!!

PLEASE, PLEASE discuss and respond to this as I have spent many hours researching this. I know the JS vs. ARC is a heated debate but please do not focus on that here. I am simply trying to do the Privateer thing and use BOTH SIDES to get what I want... It's what Han Solo would have done before he met Luke, Leia and that "Crazy Old Man" - lol

- Thanks in Advance -

Yes, I have both of them, but you need to do the quests yourself in order to fly them.

And yes you can keep your privateer status and have someone generously donate the FP and run the quests. That is was I did.

Yea I did the same thing as I am normal a rebel, I completed the ARC quest then I donate my rebel FP and paid a imp smuggler to give me imp FP. I then did the starfighter mission and now I have turned back to rebel. In space I can use both ships and I am a Freelancer Smuggler Ace Pilot.

Yeah!!!

Thanks Briggs... I am a Smuggler pilot as well,... so this is good to know

Final Question (on this subject anyways... lol)-

Which mission should I do first, Rebel (ARC-170) or Imp (Jedi Starfighter)?

I am EXTREMELY low level since I have spent less than 12 hours in game so far... So I want to do the missions in the order that I CAN do them preferably without group, since then it will feel like I EARNED it more, but am willing to make certain concessions if needs be.... So...

Which mission should I do first, Rebel (ARC-170) or Imp (Jedi Starfighter)?

Thanks

K I went for the arc as I was alreday a Rebel, when you say extremely low level do you mean on the ground or space? Also for freelancer pilots to fly the arc you mustn't be with (Can't remember the name it's the same thing as like naboo police - means you are working for the empire)

I was a Rebel Ace and did the Queen's quest for the ARC-170.

After a lot of debating with myself, I decided to drop my Rebel Ace
profession and Rebel Colonel rank,go Imp, do the JSF quest, then
go Rebel again and re-grind Rebel Pilot twice (thought I might as well
get the last 2 Rebel pilot badges hehe).

I can fly the JSF now and the ARC-170. Except I made the mistake
of re-deeding the ARC-170 and now I can't generate it again. I see
the Devs have noted this as a known bug and are working on it so
hopefully we'll see a fix soon
