Thread: Parting Items

I think that in the next big patch or expansion after the wookiee one that a certain profession should be able to part items into resources, resources with maybe 200 max of each stats on the resource for looted items and maybe half the uality of the resources on crafted items...


for instance on the looted items, I loot a scout blaster, a weaponsmith could part it for me and id get 1-30 units of steel with 200 everything on it.


as for crafted items, i loot a cloak, id have a tailor part it for me and id get some hide or w/e is made from it with 1-50 units of hide and half the quality on all stats of the hide that made the cloak.


This sort of method was used in EVE but when u looted a part anyone could part it at a station. I really like this feature in other games and i think it would make people want to go looting more often, give something else to do in the game, and people would hunt alot and FS grind wouldnt be such a pain cuz wed have fun looting off npcs

Better exempt things built by shipwrights and architects, otherwise this idea could be exploited into a cheap way of acquiring resources. I've read other posts that say they have difficulty selling X-Wings for even as little as 6k on the less-populated servers. I'm fairly certain the resource value of an X-Wing fighter is greater than 6000 credits.


Re-examine your proposal for flaws. If it was being considered as is I'd fight it tooth and nail.

In a way this is a case for keeping the idea, as the need for new chassies is so small most of us have a least an old Y-Wing stuck in the bank of no use, this would up the value of those ships as they could be turned into something more usefull. That X-Wing that no one would buy would soon be worth more as a result of the change. Alos it would take items that have flooded the intvintory system out of it, I for one sit on a lot of stuff incase I find a use for it one day, with this system people might sell or part it.
