Thread: Alertness does what exactly?

I picked up a Clothing Attachment that gives a +5 to Alertness.

What the smeg does Alertness do, exactly?

"The Alert skill offers a chance to defend against a surprise shot from a covered sniper. The higher the skill, the better the chance to successfully defend against this type of attack" -Taken fromleaving my mouse above the Alertness mod in"MySkill Mods" for a few seconds.

And also in the rifleman proffession. Makes sense really since rifleman have the "surprise shot" attack

What would be considered a high value of allertness? any profesion that have alertness skill modifier?

I know its a necro, but for those who dont know...
You know when something aggros you and you autoattack? its the response time between the time your aggroed and you autoattack - that your alertness mod.
