Most likely there's something in range that has a name beginning with 'up' - Search around the game guides forum for the syntax to use when this happens. It's something like /move <name> up <number> where name is something more descriptive to the object you actually want to move.
In either case, if you search around, i know this has been asked and answered before - it's just been awhile.

the correct command is
/moveFurniture [up|down|forward|backward] 1
you have to type at least /moveFurn and i think you usually have to type theentire second word (forward instead of just for).
For the number, you can use any number (1, 10, 100 etc)

if you have the upholstered chair in your house that's whats doing it
pick it up..move what you want and put it back. that should do it.

you are lucky at least...the radial menu works...i have a decorating job i've been trying to do for weeks, and one of the rooms in the house the items will not move up...had a CSR working with me for like half an hour and he couldn't get it to work either
screws up my whole design....
if you have an upholstered chair, that can make it not move, or you may need to rename it....but i've never had to use the /moveFurniture command, i can usually just do /move up # or /move down #

Sorry but this is incorrect, you can type only /move up , /move down , ./rotate right, /rotate left, /move forward, /move back.

What are you trying to move? Try typing
/move [name of the item] up 50
If the item name is more than one word, try just the first word.
Do you have any items (like an upholstered chair) in the house?

I got it to work now, i had to type the name in when doing it. Though that still sucks becuase i didn't have to before. I think There should put back to just typeing /move up (##)

thats just a bug for you as far as I can tell...I can still type move up # and it'll work...as long as nothing in your house's name starts with up you should /bug it...

A nearby player base will cause this as well, since it has an uplink terminal. To move a Gammorean axe up, type /move gam up 100, unless you have for example a GameeTech Crafting Station, in which case you'd need to type /move gamm up 100, and so on.
