I have come across 4 missions that have you arrive at a position and observe what's going on (NS mission where you watch the battle between NS and the other ones (can't think of their name at the moment), the imp prison one where you check out the spiderclan cave, the other ones mission where you also check out the spiderclan cave again, and the imps mission on dant. that has you visiting the mokks (i think it's the mokks) cave). i have not completed one of these. i've gone to the spots (and they always say you've arrived at the position before you actually arive at the wp), waited for sometime and then got antsy, wondering if these missions might be bugged. i usually wait around for about 10-15 min., then i begin to wonder if i'm in the wrong spot, or if it's bugged and then leave.
so are these missions bugged? or am i just too impatient? or am i sitting in the wrong area? or am i supposed to do something else while i'm out there (like paint my toenails or something?)?

They are not missions. The NPC just sends you out to see something. A way to show players historic/interesting places.

when you get the message that you've arrived at the location that you were sent to... thats it. like the previous poster said, they are just a way to show you some locations.

and if u try to take another mission from someone else, u will get a message that u are already working for someone else, but u have the choice of removing that obligation and working for the new npc.

They are called "heralds". The dev's look at the game, and figure people aren't doing enough exploring. This was a way to promote more exploration. Every Dungeon/POI where something can be killed? Chances are some NPC is willing to sit you down and tell you a story about it, and give you a waypoint. But no one talks to NPCs anyway.

Yes, these herald "quests" were in before all the POI's showed up on the datapad. Was fun, I remember finding the pirate cave and narglatch cave on Naboo this way. Think the pirate cave actually gives a mission to save somebody's family once you get to the bottom.
