I am just starting out using pistols and rifles - so I hope there is a simple answer to my problem. When I initiate combat using either a pistol or rifle, I find that after my "special attack" occurs, the computer continues autofiring with the "basic attack" of the weapon. Simply put, how can I make it not do that? Tactically, I want to be able to control each shot I take (I understand the computer will still dictate how fast I can perform these shots and that is fine). For instance, I may wish to make a head shot on one target, change targets and use a different shot on it. The autofire means that after I do the head shot (assuming I do not do another special attack), it will continue to autofire at the target. Is there a simple way to turn this autofire off?
My only thought has been to make a macro for each special attack with the attack and then a peace. This seems like a LOT of trouble. Also, I don't know if in the final analysis this will cause me to fire more slowly (due to the macro and due to the peace) - does anybody know this for sure?
I thank you in advance for your help.

Macro won't slow down your firing, You will most likely need to time pauses just right and the peace command. But once you go into attack mode, you always attack with whatever you have until you peace.
You can however queue up attacks on multiple targets. Unfortunately though, if one of your target dies, the game clears your combat queue for some dumb reason.

Not sure what you are trying to achieve by not having autofire in combat. Just use a special, tab to next target and use next special. Autofire costs nothing from your HAM so you might as well use it.

I know what you are trying to do
peace stops fighting instantly, it doesn't go into the combat que so you will have to wait till you fire to use it or learn to tab to new targets and apply your "special" to the next one.
