It's not, the mod takes affect AFTER your weapon speed, I believe.

If you fire Strafe Shot 2 with a 7.5 speed rifle, at master rifleman, you're going to shoot 2.6 seconds. If you have the +12 ranged speed, that's taking off 12% speed from that 2.6, making it 2.3.

This is just what I think I haven't been able to do any testing, I'd REALLY like a dev to confirm if this is how it works tho!

Pretty much all the FS skills are useless... they don't give enough of a bonus in order to really affect anything. They do help but it just isn't a lot.

I think the combat ones were made in anticipation for the combat revamp.

wrong.

enhanced melee speed works like SEAs.

are you gonna tell me they used2 different formulas for melee and ranged speed?

what do you think is more likely, given SOEs history with the quality of code in this game? that they took the time to create 2 different, working peices of code, or they just implemented old code and broke half of it?

my swordsman is speed capped on a 5.5 speed hammer now thanks to the enhanced melee speed tree (effective 2handed speed = +92).

also wrong.

if ranged speed was working, i could regain 38 SP by dropping master marksman, and still be speed capped.

the difference in damage output using strafeshot2 on a master rifleman with +90 speed with a damage sliced t21 is about 150%.

i dare you to tell me a 150% increase in damage output is "pretty much useless".

how do you know the FS skills are even set to the same as the regular skills? It could easily be coded different by the devs. They could have made it a different code... every jedi I have talked to has said that their FS skills have not given them any real advantage. I have 3 branches... melee speed, melee acc and ranged acc, none of them have done much difference than from before I got them.

there are several threads in the Jedi forum that test these skills. They have been determined to be useful.

are youa TKA?

if so, of course it's not going to do anything for you. you would already be capped.

are you a master swordsman or pikeman? if so, check how often your specials hit now.

if you were already speed capped, nothing will make you hit faster than once per second. if you were not speed capped, on slow weapons it makes HUGE improvement.

and of course it's supposed to be the same mechanic. the percentage theory is just that, a theory. nobody has proven it or even brought any sort of evidence forth whatsoever. i have, however, proven that the melee speed tree works just like SEAs.
