Thread: NPC Rescue Missions
I had the same problem with one of the laterValarian missions on Tat. I was supposed to find a bodyguard that didn't show up, but basically the moment the jabba goons popped, they killed him. I tried the mission three times, got killed the first time (it was two yellow cons, which I can take down good rifling) killed both the second time to find a dead bodyguard, and drew both away and killed them the third time to find ANOTHER dead bodyguard.
The only possible solution I can see to this is now that my medic is much better, bum rushing the jabba goons and healing the bodyguard so they won't kill him in 5 seconds. Some of the rescue type missions are a real pain.
Oh, and don't get incapped by ANYTHING after completing a mission! If you get the Mission Successful message, then get incapped by womp rats on the way home, it will change to the Mission Fail message. Happened to me twice and I /bugged it both times, stupid bug but what bug isn't?
Good luck!

Folks,
I wanted to offer a warning and a suggestion to people running rescue missions outside the cities.
In Coronet there's a Selonian woman near the guild halls, who sends you on a series of missions to meet with some of her sept-sisters outside of town. In her final mission, she asks you to rescue a sept-sister who was kidnapped.
If you approach the waypoint too quickly, the kidnappers will kill their victim.
The warning and suggested I wanted to make is that when running such missions, approach slowly so you can at least have time to guage the situation first. When I ran the mission the second time, I approached slowly and managed to draw the fire of the kidnappers before they had the opportunity to kill the woman I'd been sent to rescue.
I remember reading about this yesterday, in a post by another player who had run all of the NPC missions on Corellia.
Has anybody else encountered missions such as this, and how did you approach them such that the mission would succeed?
