Anyone out there know of a way to make SWG use up to 2 gigs of ram instead of one? I notice in the option screen before you log into swg that it says SWG can use up to 1 gig of ram and uses 750 megs MAX. Anyone know if that can be changed or if you can put a line in your .bat file to make it use more ram to play better? I know that running 2 SWG with 2 gigs of ram runs like a dream. No lag at all and runs amazing.. Any help would be great

Sorry, not possible. The game is hardcoded into using 1GB (75% of that) at maximum, there is no way around it.
You can however improve system performance by using a disk cache tuner, allocating more memory for the harddrive cache to keep often accessed files in memory even if SWG won't do it natively.
Your biggest bottleneck is most likely your slow disk drive access, the only remedy to that is either get a faster drive (Raptor) or make a RAID with IDE/SATA/SCSI.

Galaxies may not be able to use more than 750 megs because there may not be that much data to be stored. For instance, although not an MMO, Doom 3 uses 500 megs of ram for texture files on the "ultra" details setting. If you take a look at the kind of graphics drawn in Doom 3 you can see that it is probably more intesive than SWG even when you factor in the expansive terrain.
