Thread: macros for crafting

I know that trying to create a macro for crafting is not allowed in AFK and justly so. My question is, can a macro be made, if at all, to craft something, so that many of the mouse clicks can be bypassed. A macro that could only be used once every one click. Only reason I ask is because while I am in the city, near a crafting station, my PC lags badly, making it take 3-5 times longer than my other friends PC's take. I am going to buy a new system within this year, but I was wondering if there was any hope for me, with this problem, in the meantime.

Thanks.

I don't think there's anything that lets you actually skip steps in the production process. I think your best bet is to either find a quiet place to craft, or get a house, and buy a personal crafting station away from the lagged out cities. (By the way, you do have the option set in your preferences that removes the "Are you sure you want to continue" steps in crafting, right?)

Also try looking at the ground before you start crafting....doesn't help with the amount of clicks, but it should help your fps a bit

Another thing you may not have set is "Confirm crafting". This is a setting under your options screen that can eliminate a couple of mouse clicks from your crafting chore.

Also you can double click the item you want to make then double click the resource you want to make it with on the resource screen. Then after the above just hit enter enter enter and it will save on the lag some. This of course assumes your not experimenting on the object.

Spoiler below!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have been warned.

Btw you know you can craft while you sample right? Not a lot of lag if you get out of the cities to get your resources and you can just sit in a good metal/poly place and never move. Oh and if you do that kill a few critters for thier bone and hide. Might as well make a camp on that spot and get some scout xp while your at it. Oh and if you have medic when your sitting in your camp getting your action pool back heal yourself some. Now you have like 4 diffrent types of xp all at one location.

I tried to make a camp, but it said I couldn't build there. I received the message that I was leaving the city, but no luck. How far from town do you have to be to set up camp?

A very long way....I believe its 1000m from the spot where it tells you that you have left the city.

If you think you're far enough and still can't build, keep going beacuse you're not.

not that far really, i think it's roughly like this:

click up planetary map (ctrl-v) right click on the cityname where you are, select create waypoint (a waypoint to the starport or another significant spot in the city will be created)

now move 1024m away from that point (this can be quite close to city limits if starport is at opposite end of city) you should now be able to place a camp.

on some planets and around some cities the nobuild -zone is larger, you can neatly find out if you are still in nobuild by typing /who <yourname>

if it says you're still in town or in nobuildX, then you're still in the "municipal zone".

bottom line, just go a little further out, you'll be able to build camps before the really aggressive critters start showing up and before getting into the "mission belt"

Is there a macro for crafting faster & how do you set it up for food. I've mastered pikeman and now trying for chef, but it is so boring grinding and takes so long. Thanks for any information.

If you check out the forum for the crafting prof that you are grinding they usually have a sticky for the best way to grind and a good grinding macro.
